Jimmy was still waiting in the same spot. There was no way to easily resolve today's events, so his off-duty time wasn't fixed either. He took out his phone and called Nia. They had planned to watch a game that evening, but now they'd have to cancel.
After learning that the FBI had lost an agent, Nia understood Jimmy's situation. If the same thing happened with the NYPD, their reaction would be similar. However, the NYPD has more officers, so when something like this happens, patrol cars gather immediately, and all nearby officers converge to find the perpetrator.
The FBI was at a disadvantage, especially since the case Ryan and his team were handling wasn't publicly known within the bureau. When the gunfight broke out, no one knew about it.
After waiting a while longer, Lauren Taylor walked over. "Jimmy, there's news."
