In the Pure Land, on the spiritual mountain, everything was still a scene of devastation, the earth torn and mountains collapsing. The land had already split open, and a vast bottomless chasm cut past the side of the spiritual mountain.
A Little Monk hurried to the edge of the chasm and looked deep down, only to see magma slowly flowing at the bottom of the valley, and on the pitch-black rock walls something seemed to be slowly wriggling.
The Little Monk thought he was seeing things. He rubbed his eyes and looked carefully, only then discovering that the rock wall was actually crawling full of strange creatures packed densely together!
They were pitch-black all over, with no fixed shape at all, inching upward along the rock wall. If you didn't look closely you simply couldn't distinguish them. In this ten-thousand-zhang-deep abyss, they had actually climbed more than half the way up; the distance to the ground was now only a few thousand zhang.
