There's no helping it. A Curse Master is powerful, but the opponent is from the three great families and might have inherited the Kamo family's hereditary sorcery. If that sorcery is on par with the unconditional [Limitless Cursed Technique] and the Zenin family's [Ten Shadows Technique], then [Curse] might not have any advantage.
As for the other students from the Tokyo Academy, we aren't too sure of their strength, but we can't rule out that there may be experts among them.
