Chapter 11 - The core

So, I kinda completely forgot about this chapter, even existing, and while I'm not too happy about the content, besides the low word count and the very weird emotional Uzi. I just thought I might as well post what the next chapter would have been just to show what I was working on before I stopped writing.

P.S. I'm like 90% sure this chapter is the one I first started having trouble writing for this book.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Y/n and Uzi walked silently down the hallway, neither of them speaking since leaving the generator room. Y/n kept looking in the nearby rooms as they moved toward Site 4v's control room, his eyes searching for the Keybug, which seemed to disappear when Uzi appeared.

He was fortunate enough to have visited the site before, so he still remembered the layout. However, he would have preferred to have the keybug since he needed it to access the building's core, and it would have also helped him access the building's subsystems.

Uzi: So?

Y/n raised an eyebrow as they looked at Uzi, who finally broke the silence between them.

Y/n: So?

Y/n: So?

Uzi: Don't assume you can just avoid my question, Y/n!

Y/n: Okay, okay, calm down. You don't need to yell... "sighs" Okay, so do you remember how we were talking about parts for your blueprint for that railgun you want to build?

Uzi: Yeah, what about it?

Y/n: So, the main part, the ones you mentioned, was in the death spire, aka the "sex dungeon." Well, this place happens to have one, but well-

Uzi: Y... You came out here in the middle of the night to get the part for my railgun? You did this for me? But.. w-why?

Uzi was stunned by what Y/n had told her. She was used to being an outcast, friendless, and mistreated by her classmates because she was seen as weird. Surprisingly, though, this human, whom she believed she should dislike strongly, had not treated her badly. Instead, Y/n had been nice to her, not teasing or mocking her, but helping her.

They hardly knew each other; they were supposed to be enemies. He was meant to be her captive, yet willingly, he helped her with her dress for the party. He also comforted her when she was upset after her embarrassing display at the party.

Even now, after escaping the bunker, he could have left and never returned. However, instead, he chose to come to this building, with Uzi being his purpose for being there.

But what about her? Why was she pursuing him across town? She had already gathered all the information she needed about JCJenson from him, or at least she believed she had. She could have let him go, but something inside her, when she woke up and saw him gone, triggered a strange feeling in her robo heart.

A faint sigh escapes her lips as her eyes drift to the floor, while her right hand clenches into a fist and rests on the left side of her chest. She simply couldn't grasp what was going through his mind… or herself, for that matter.

Y/n: Maybe, just maybe, I'm showing you that we humans aren't as horrible as you think we are… and, or ma-

Without warning, Uzi abruptly looked away and stepped toward a nearby wall before Y/n could finish speaking. She leaned her back against the wall, slid down into a seated position, drew her legs to her chest, grabbed her beanie, and pulled it down to cover her eyes.

Y/n stayed in the hallway, feeling confused and worried about Uzi's sudden change in attitude. Did he say something that upset her?

He ran his hand through his hair, then approached and crouched in front of her. He opened his mouth to speak and apologize, but before he could say anything, Uzi finally broke the awkward silence that formed between the two once more.

Uzi: Do you know why I hate humans?

Y/n didn't reply; he just stayed crouched, listening. Uzi didn't wait for a reply either and continued.

Uzi: My mother... she was killed by those... those disassembly drones made by your kind to hunt and kill us, all because your kind caused its own destruction on this stupid planet.

Uzi: I never had the chance to know my mother... So, wonder how I feel when I unexpectedly capture one, only to realize they are completely different from what I believed. God, I'm so stupid!

Uzi's fingers pressed deeper into the ends of her beanie, which still covered her eyes, blocking her from seeing whether Y/n had any reaction to her words, but that was the least of her concerns.

Uzi: How did I let myself get so close to one?

Suddenly, she felt Y/n's hands grasping her own and lifted her beanie just enough so her eyes were no longer covered.

She looked at his hand for a moment, feeling how warm it was, before slowly lifting her gaze to see Y/n with a small smile, though his eyes seemed somewhat sadder in a way.

Y/n: You're not wrong, Uzi humans; we can be extremely terrible. We are selfish, greedy, arrogant, manipulative, and dishonest. However, we can also have honesty, compassion, integrity, courage, kindness, loyalty, and patience.

Y/n: It's not just us who have these traits; even during the prototype days, humans were building you all with these types of traits to make you all feel more comfortable to be around. It would be hypocritical to think only humans have these problems…

Y/n: But Uzi, if it makes you feel better, I'm okay with being labeled as a scary, horrible human... You actually didn't let me finish what I was saying earlier... Maybe the reason I was helping you was just because I consider you a friend.

Uzi's eyes soften as they drift downward toward the floor, while Y/n finally stands back up on his feet and extends his hand toward Uzi, which she looks at for a moment.

Uzi: And why should I trust anything you say?

Uzi didn't mean any harm with her words; she was simply worried about trusting him more than she already had.

Y/n: Because... I will do the one thing a human couldn't: give you a fighting chance against those murder drones.

(Absolutely Cinema)

Hearing those words, Uzi closed her eyes and took a deep breath to calm herself. She then opened her eyes again, grabbed his hand, and was helped to stand.

Uzi: If you genuinely mean what you say, then you'd better stick to your words.

Y/n: Of course

The two exchanged looks, appearing completely comfortable with each other, before continuing down the hallway. As they walk, Uzi glances at him and lightly nudges her shoulder against his, but due to their height difference, she only taps his lower arm, which still catches his attention as he looks at her.

Although she did not say it aloud, she mouthed the words "thank you," and he nodded in response.

They walked for a while longer before Y/n, this time being the one to break the silence between the two.

Y/n: You know, I haven't met my parents either.

* Time skip brought to you by Y/n talking about how he never met either of his parents.*

After climbing the stairs for what felt like forever, the pair finally reached the first floor and stood in front of a double set of doors.

Uzi moved a little closer, then bent over slightly and rested her hand on her hip as she stared at the empty spot where the doorknob should have been. She sighed, then turned to look at him, crossing her arms with a slightly tired expression.

Uzi: I don't think we're going to get in this way... unless.

Her eyes traveled upward toward the roof, scanning the area before catching sight of an air vent with the grilles hanging by just its corner screws that were still in place.

Uzi: Ah, huh! Found it.

Y/n watched Uzi as she moved toward the wall with the exposed vent, attempting to jump and grasp the inside of the air vent with her hands extended out… but she couldn't reach it because… well, she was too short.

After a few attempts, realizing there was no other option, she slowly turned to look back at Y/n, her eyes filled with defeat, while Y/n was casually leaning against the wall with a smirk and his arms crossed.

Y/n: "raises an eyebrow." What's wrong, Uzi? You seem like you're having trouble.

Uzi: I uh…" quietly" need little help…

Y/n: What was that?

Uzi: I said I need some help, you jerk!

Y/n: Alright, alright, just messing with you. What do you want me to do?

Uzi: Get down on your knees.

Y/n looked away, avoiding Uzi's gaze as his face turned slightly red. His hand was grasping his mouth.

Y/n: Uzi, I didn't realize you were interested in submissive and dominant play.

Uzi: Just get on your knees.

Y/n was laughing to himself while doing what Uzi wanted and got down on his knees as she watched, tired of his antics.

Uzi approached from behind, carefully draped her legs over his shoulder, and sat on him. She tapped his shoulder and pointed upward, prompting him to nod and stand up.

He rested his hands on her robotic thighs, feeling the soft metallic surface bend, much like a human leg would under pressure. Although he couldn't see it, Uzi was blushing as she gently nudged his head.

Uzi: D-Don't do anything weird.

Y/n: Why would you think I'm doing something strange?

Uzi: Oh, I don't know, maybe because you're pushing my thigh against your head!

Y/n:...

Y/n: Nope, no idea what you're talking about.

Uzi: Ugh, just get me close to the vent.

Y/n chuckled softly as he carefully approached the vent, standing right in front of it. Uz placed her hands on Y/n's head, attempting to stand on his shoulder before finally climbing into the dusty vent.

Y/n waited patiently as Uzi made her way through the vent. Y/n whistled softly, glancing around until he saw a faint green light moving down the corridor, gradually becoming brighter.

Rolling his eyes, Y/n turned and crouched down, extending his arms to pick up the glowing object, which was, of course, the Keybug.

It tilted its little head before, once again prompting its screen to flicker in front of his face like an unskippable ad. To which he just sighed before typing in commands.

—-----------------------------------------------------------------

*Decided just to do the writing this way because it was getting annoying to fix the spacing when it was on the other side.*

Keybug: :3

Y/n: What is the status of the core?

Keybug: Core integrity is extremely weak; if the facility runs at full power, the estimated failure time is 2 minutes.

Y/n: initial core removal program.

Keybug: Loading... Loading... Error. Drone Site 4V scan reveals only a single registration drone on site.

Y/n: Override code prototype 69

Keybug: Loading, loading, loading... Override code accepted. Active core removal program?

Y/n: yes.

Keybug: A-Are you definitely sure?

Y/n: Yes?

Keybug: ... super duper sure? There's no take back, even if your mom is killed and sent into a black void.

Y/n:... Just activate the program already.

—-----------------------------------------------------------------

"Thump"

Y/n glanced up from the prompt screen, looking around, trying to find what caused the crashing sound he heard, but all he saw was the dark hallway, looking lifeless as it always had.

Y/n: Hey, is everything alright up in there?

Y/n stared at the vent in silence for a few seconds before the angsty voice responded to him.

Uzi: Yeah, yeah, everything is just perfectly fine and shining up here.

If he didn't know better, he might think Uzi sounds a little annoyed about something. Then, he heard a faint thump from the handleless door before Uzi spoke once more.

Uzi: I uh made it to the other side, but there are no handles here.

Y/n grasped his chin, thinking for a moment as his eyes wandered around before finally settling on the open prompt screen in front of him, suddenly remembering how to open the door.

—-----------------------------------------------------------------

Y/n: Open the central control room door.

Keybug:.. Ok :D

—-----------------------------------------------------------------

The loud clanking of mechanical gears echoed as they began to shift inside the handleless door. Gradually, the door started to open. On the other side, Uzi watched in confusion, wondering why the door was opening.

Uzi: What? What did you do?

Y/n walked into the other room with the Keybug in hand, his eyes looking around the somewhat familiar place. He stopped when he saw Uzi, whose jacket was covered in dust, lint, and who knows what else.

Y/n: I found the key to the doors. Uh, what happened to you?

Uzi: Ugh, bite me! What do you think happened?

Y/n glanced at the vent grate, which looked damaged or crushed, as if someone had fallen on it, probably Uzi, when she was climbing out of the air duct.

She walked closer and leaned over slightly, looking at the bug in Y/n's hand. She was used to seeing them all the time, but this one stood out from all the other bugs she had seen in her classroom. They were usually hanging around Lizzy's friend... what was her name again?

Suddenly, without warning, the Keybug began scanning Uzi's face. The lights went up and down a few times before stopping and pushing the prompt screen back towards Y/n.

Y/n: Ugh, override code prototype 67

Keybug:... 6…7 heh

—-----------------------------------------------------------------

Y/n really stood there, flabbergasted by the Keybug because, honestly, who programmed it?

Uzi: Agh, what the hell my eyes.

Y/n: You alright?

Uzi: Yeah, I just need a moment. Ugh, that bug's light shined into my eye. What kind of bug was that?

Y/n: just a normal one

Y/n casually tossed the Keybug over his shoulder since he no longer needed it, expecting a smooth experience now that he's in the main control room. However, in doing so, he overlooked the prompt screen that appeared when he threw it.

Sorry, y'all. Due to time constraints, I couldn't add the lemon or the ending I wanted, which was V and J entering the room. If I have enough time, I'll try to include it in the public release of this chapter.
