Chapter 123 - The Cunning Ning Fengzhi

Old Tai Tan looked solemnly at Bone Douluo and Zong, frowning slightly when he saw Zong's Blue Silver Emperor. Although its form had drastically changed, it was undoubtedly still "Blue Silver Grass." He pondered to himself, "Could he be the one who actually beat up those two boys from my clan?"

Before Zong could catch his breath, the airtight Blue Silver Prison around Bone Douluo began to emit the sound of cracking.

Crack — As the sound echoed, small cracks appeared all around the Blue Silver Prison. The gaps widened, and beams of greyish-white light began to shine through.

Zong frowned, realizing the situation was bad.

Without hesitation, he gathered soul power at his feet and used his Eight Spider Lances to leap away.

As expected, a dragon's roar echoed, and the Blue Silver Prison was shattered into dust. The dragon's roar sent a massive shockwave rippling outward.

Although Zong had prepared for this, he was still a step too late. The shockwave hit him, causing his blood to churn. Using the Eight Spider Lances to cushion his fall, he slid back over ten meters, finally stopping in front of Tai Tan and the others. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.

The Shrek Academy students, unable to ignore the overwhelming power of the battle, scattered in fear. Though Zong was powerful, the aura from the visitor was even more terrifying than Old Tai Tan's.

Soon, the only ones left at the scene were Tai Tan, his two subordinates, Shrek's Zhao Wuji, Oscar, Meng Yiran, the unconscious Tang San, and Zong.

As the dust settled, the top two floors of a nearby building were sliced clean off. Bone Douluo floated in mid-air, calmly standing there. He remained unscathed, but his clothes were in tatters, and even the few strands of hair on his head were scorched black. The sight was comical, no matter how one looked at it.

Wiping the blood from his mouth, Zong struggled to hold back laughter. No wonder the old man was so furious; it turned out his precious hair had been burned. However, if Bone Douluo attacked again, Zong would have no choice but to use his system's teleportation to escape — he couldn't possibly take on a Rank 95 Titled Douluo.

Just as Bone Douluo was about to make another move, a calm voice from afar stopped him.

"That's enough, Uncle Bone."

As the voice fell, Ning Fengzhi appeared, walking slowly with Ning Rongrong.

With Ning Fengzhi's arrival, the need for battle dissipated. Zong felt relieved, retracting his Eight Spider Lances and focusing on calming his internal injuries. The soul power that Bone Douluo had unleashed was unimaginably powerful, far beyond what Dugu Bo could have mustered. Zong sighed inwardly, realizing how significant even a three- or four-level difference in soul power could be among Titled Douluo.

Oscar's eyes lit up with joy. Ning Rongrong's return to Shrek Academy was a dream come true for him. The revolution was far from over, and his pursuit still had hope — after all, being together was his only chance!

Oscar grinned at Ning Rongrong, "Rongrong, you're back!"

Ning Rongrong ran towards him but veered away at the last moment, heading straight for Zong without a moment's pause.

"Uh…" A gust of wind blew, and a large sweat drop appeared on Oscar's forehead, his face etched with awkwardness.

Zhao Wuji patted Oscar on the shoulder, comforting him, "Cheer up, Little Ao!"

At this moment, Bone Douluo descended and stood beside Ning Fengzhi.

Ning Rongrong hurriedly helped the injured Zong to his feet, her face full of worry and guilt. She took out a handkerchief to wipe the blood from the corner of his mouth, "Zong, are you okay?"

Seeing Ning Rongrong so concerned, Zong felt a bit confused. When had the "princess" ever cared so much about him? He thought she had feelings for someone else, likely Oscar, based on the original storyline. Shouldn't she be worried about him?

Zong shook his head and stood up, "I'm fine, just need some rest."

"Grandpa Bone, that was too much! How could you hurt Zong like this?" Ning Rongrong glared at Bone Douluo with a fierce, adorable pout.

"Uh..." Bone Douluo's face turned pale with embarrassment. He inwardly complained, "Wasn't the boy just lightly injured? Shouldn't you be worried about my poor, scorched hair instead? There's hardly any left!"

Of course, he didn't dare say that aloud. He quickly waved his hand, "I'll be more careful next time."

Ning Rongrong's cheeks puffed out in anger, her face flushed, "Hmph! There better not be a next time!"

"There won't, I promise." Who would have thought that a mighty Rank 95 Titled Douluo would apologize to a little girl?

At that moment, Old Tai Tan spoke up, addressing Bone Douluo and Ning Fengzhi with respect, "It is an honor to welcome Bone Douluo and Sect Master Ning."

Old Tai Tan had a fearless nature, but even he had to restrain his temper in front of Bone Douluo and Ning Fengzhi.

The Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect always had one of its two guardian Douluo accompany the sect master when he left the sect, while the other stayed behind to guard the base. Sword Douluo Chen Xin had already met Zong before, so it was Bone Douluo's turn this time.

In fact, Ning Fengzhi and his group had been hiding nearby ever since Tang San's bet with Tai Tan began. Although Ning Rongrong wasn't as close to Tang San as she was in the original story, he was still her teammate, and she had begged her father to intervene. Ning Fengzhi had refused, choosing instead to observe from the shadows. His original intent was to see what Zong was capable of, but upon discovering another talented young genius, he decided to test him further, leading to the battle with Bone Douluo.

Even Ning Fengzhi, known for his composure, couldn't help but be impressed by Zong's extraordinary talents. External spirit bones, soul power far beyond his peers, a powerful plant-type martial spirit, exceptional combat skills, vast battle experience, and those flashy, powerful combination techniques — Ning Fengzhi couldn't help but be moved.

If his precious daughter could bring Zong into the family, the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect would gain a new Titled Douluo in less than twenty years — and one with exceptional combat power.

Of course, if Ning Fengzhi knew about Zong's spirit ring configuration and his second martial spirit, he would be even more astonished.

Ning Fengzhi nodded, glancing at Old Tai Tan and saying calmly, "There's no need for formalities, Senior Tai Tan."

Although Old Tai Tan had a soul power of 86, Ning Fengzhi calling him "Senior" was appropriate, given their difference in status.

Turning the conversation to Tang San, Ning Fengzhi asked, "Senior Tai Tan, could you spare this young man named Tang San?"

While Tang San's talents might not be on par with Zong's, he was still a rare talent. If Ning Fengzhi could bring him into the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect, that would be ideal.
