"We were dropped off in the city. Now, we need to find a secret place. What kind of test is this?" Biscuit scratched her head as she looked at the unique bracelet the Exam Examiner had given her.
"I wonder, too, but at least this time, the exam is more relaxed." Ives expressed his opinion. The town was relatively small, so maybe this search could be done quickly.
"But the problem is where should we look? The Examiner said we can enter after finding the right person, but who? This is so random." Biscuit looked left and right. Many people were walking around; all of them looked like ordinary citizens, but it was possible that one of them might know what they were looking for.
"Also, there is a rule about us not being allowed to say it directly. We only have to show the bracelet we are wearing. However, showing it to everyone we meet on the street will make us look like weirdos." Biscuit lowered her shoulder, feeling unplugged. Of course, she didn't want to be seen as a weirdo.
"This one is quite random, indeed." Ives nodded. "Biscuit, come with me to the flea market; I saw it while we were on the plane. Maybe we can sell our 'weapons' and buy new ones more comfortable to hold. It's too fancy, don't you think?" Ives pointed to the giant claws he had on his back. Besides being uncomfortable to hold, these claws also made them stand out in a crowd.
"You're right. Although this weapon is durable and sharp, it is indeed too big for me. It would be better if we could exchange it for another weapon." Biscuit nodded.
Side by side, they headed straight to the nearest flea market. There, they were greeted by various merchants displaying their wares. Some sold part sold vegetables, some junk, antiques, kitchen equipment, and one they were looking for, a weapons shop. Although the town was small, the market was very crowded, as evidenced by the hundreds of people passing by at all times.
He nudged Biscuit as he pointed toward a roadside weapons store. The two entered and immediately placed their 'weapons' on the vendor's counter.
"Th-this?! B-beautiful!!!" The seller, who seemed to be a weapons geek, immediately shouted joyfully. His eyes lit up when the customer suddenly offered their strange weapons. "Strange? Not at all, this must be the claw of-" Like a true nerd, he raised his finger while explaining what he knew.
"Ten million Jenny for each hand, forty million in total, deal?" The merchant offered his price with a big smile. As a weapon enthusiast, he knew exactly where these claws came from. Yes, these came from a hazardous wolf monster! Its claws were extremely sharp and durable, rivaling a diamond's durability. If this raw material were turned into a weapon craft, the price would skyrocket!
'This thing is more valuable than I thought.' Biscuit whispered to Ives while dripping a sweat. Is this claw really worth ten million each?!
'I never expected the price could reach this high.' Ives whispered back. Pulling on his tie, he smiled and entered businessman mode.
"Fair prices, deal!"
"Thank you, thank you, my good sir. My waiter will make a check for you right away." The weapons dealer nodded happily as he shook the customer's hand.
"Can I make a request?" Ives asked.
"Sure, what kind of request would you like?" He nodded professionally.
"I want a sharp, durable weapon and a nice fit to our hand. What can you suggest for us?"
"Sharp, durable, and fit..." The merchant stroked his chin. "There are three sections filled with various weapons; the ones you want are in the most expensive section. I will get some that I think suit the two of you." The merchant excused himself to get the weapons he had in mind. When he returned, he showed them ten weapons of various sizes and shapes, but unfortunately, none were good enough.
"I want something special. Can you fulfill it?"
"Special, hehe~ No problem, but the price is certainly not cheap." The merchant suddenly chuckled as he readjusted his glasses. "I will use the materials you just sold me, and I will create the best weapon since the establishment of this shop! But unfortunately, you need to wait for two days. Is that okay?" He was sincere and full of enthusiasm.
"What do you think, Biscuit?" He didn't mind, but he needed to hear Biscuit's opinion first.
"We have three days before the main event. We can wait while we find out who we need to contact." After thinking for a moment, Biscuit nodded in agreement. There was still plenty of time anyway. If the weapon were as amazing as this maniac said, she wouldn't mind.
"Finding out who to contact?" The merchant who overheard their conversation turned curious, but then he noticed the unique bracelets they were wearing. "Could it be?! Are you two Hunter Exam participants? What a coincidence! You both have met the right person!" The enthusiastic merchant smiled broadly.
"?" Biscuit and Ives looked at each other. They never thought they could be this lucky.
