"What?" The word came out strangled, disbelieving, almost violent in its incomprehension.
"I understand that this is confusing," the doctor said gently, his voice infinitely compassionate. "Deeply confusing, even disturbing. But medically speaking, the traumas she described in her nightmares, the extended drug use, the blindness, the sexual assault, they don't match her physical reality. At all."
