The battle in Yuan City, culminating in Mo Yu's emergence from seclusion, had come to a resounding conclusion.
This great war would undoubtedly elevate Mo Yu and Yuan Manor's reputation to unparalleled heights across the Central Plains. Facing five Ban Shengs alone, Mo Yu injured four and forced one to surrender.
The clash even drew the attention of a Dou Sheng from the Hun Clan, who intervened, forcing the Hall of Souls's Ban Sheng to retreat wounded. Such a feat was nothing short of legendary, as Ban Shengs were seen as nearly mythical beings in the eyes of many.
Yet, Mo Yu defeated them with sheer dominance, leaving countless people in awe. From this moment forward, few forces across the Central Plains would dare underestimate this rapidly rising power.
In stark contrast to Yuan Manor's grand victory, the Tian Ming Sect and Hall of Souls faced utter devastation. The Tian Ming Sect's only Ban Sheng had surrendered, while most of the Hall of Souls's experts perished in Yuan City.
It became clear to all that the Tian Ming Sect was effectively erased from the map, and the Hall of Souls had gained a powerful new adversary—Yuan Manor.
As the tales of the Yuan City battle spread like wildfire across the Central Plains, Yuan Manor itself remained unusually calm.
The days following the conflict were spent handling the aftermath. Though the sect suffered some losses from the Tian Ming Sect and Hall of Souls's large-scale attack, the damage paled in comparison to their opponents' annihilation.
After three days of relative peace, Yuan Manor's retaliation began under countless watchful eyes.
Under the leadership of Mo Yu, along with the Ban Shengs She Lao and Qing Zhi, Yuan Manor launched a counterattack that eradicated every Hall of Souls branch in the Western Region.
Their dominance was such that the Hall of Souls couldn't muster any meaningful resistance. Strangely, the Hall of Souls's headquarters offered no reinforcements or response, almost as though they had vanished into thin air.
After destroying the Hall of Souls's Western Region branches, Mo Yu wisely chose not to pursue them further. He understood the dangers of provoking the Hall of Souls's headquarters, which housed two Dou Shengs—one being the Hall of Souls Hall Master, a Five-Star Dou Sheng. For now, such a confrontation was beyond his reach.
However, instead of returning to Yuan Manor, Mo Yu led his forces to the Tian Ming Sect's headquarters.
"Lord Mo, the Grand Elder has already surrendered to Yuan Manor. Why do you still lead such a force to attack our Tian Ming Sect?"
Standing atop a mountain within the sect's headquarters, Tian Ming Sect's Sect Master looked at Mo Yu and the Yuan Manor forces with visible panic.
The news of Mo Yu's breakthrough into the Dou Sheng realm had spread like wildfire, and as one of the involved parties, the sect was well aware of his power. Now seeing him personally lead a massive force to their gates, even the Sect Master's years of composure faltered as cold sweat streamed down his face.
Mo Yu gazed indifferently at the Sect Master, whose strength as an Initial Ban Sheng, coupled with Elder Tian Ming, had made the sect formidable enough to rank among the two prominent sects in the region.
"Since you've acknowledged Elder Tian Ming's allegiance to Yuan Manor, why haven't you and your sect followed suit?" A cold snort interrupted, coming from a young woman standing behind Mo Yu.
The speaker was none other than Mo Yu's youngest disciple, Xiang Lin. After years of cultivation, her strength had reached the Six-Star Dou Wang level.
Though not particularly remarkable within Yuan Manor's current ranks, a Six-Star Dou Wang at the age of twenty was terrifying even among ancient clans.
Given his breakthrough, Mo Yu decided it was time to train his disciples more rigorously. Taking Xiang Lin along for this campaign was part of this plan, while Huang Tu and Xuanwo Zhuo were sent under the supervision of She Lao and Qing Zhi for the more dangerous task of hunting down Hall of Souls branches.
"Boys should be tempered through harsher trials..." Mo Yu had remarked.
Hearing Xiang Lin's words, Tian Ming Sect's Sect Master cautiously glanced at Mo Yu and wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Lord Mo, we have no objection to the Grand Elder joining Yuan Manor.
However, forcing the entire sect to merge into Yuan Manor would be too much. Our sect has stood on the continent for nearly a millennium. Forcing our disciples and elders to abandon their identity as members of the Tian Ming Sect would be... difficult."
Seeing his refusal, Mo Yu lost interest in further discussion. With a wave of his hand, he ordered, "Elder Tian Ming, this matter is yours to handle. You have half an hour."
At Mo Yu's command, a gray-robed elder emerged from behind him, his aged face exuding an aura of unparalleled dominance. Though he appeared frail and ordinary, no one dared ignore the pressure radiating from him.
This elder was Elder Tian Ming.
Tian Ming Sect's Sect Master froze in surprise upon seeing him. "Grand Elder, why are you here? You..."
"Didn't I join Yuan Manor already? What, do you see me as a traitor now?" Elder Tian Ming coldly interrupted before he could finish.
"Of course not," the Sect Master quickly replied, his expression respectful.
Although he held the title of Sect Master, it was an open secret that Elder Tian Ming was the true backbone of the sect, far surpassing him in strength and prestige.
Unsurprisingly, the sight of the elder caused a stir among the sect's members, from elders to disciples, all of whom looked on in shock.
"Grand Elder, what brings you here today?"
The Sect Master looked warily at the elder and Mo Yu beside him, struggling to understand the situation.
Elder Tian Ming wasted no time. His voice rang out coldly, "Yi Yang, I have sincerely pledged allegiance to Yuan Manor. Lord Mo is a leader of unparalleled strength, with the potential to become a peerless expert. My purpose here today is to ensure the smooth integration of the Tian Ming Sect into Yuan Manor. Resistance is futile."
"What!?"
The elder's words sent shockwaves through the sect. Elders and disciples alike exchanged stunned glances, unable to believe the Grand Elder was here to persuade their surrender.
The Sect Master's expression darkened. Whether the elder's allegiance was genuine or coerced, it was clear the sect now faced its greatest crisis.
"Submitting to Yuan Manor is the trend of the times. As the Grand Elder of the Tian Ming Sect, I strongly advise you all to join Yuan Manor. If anyone resists, not to mention the Manor Lord, I will be the first to not let them off!" Elder Tian Ming snorted coldly once more.
Upon hearing this, many of the elders and disciples of the Tian Ming Sect froze momentarily, then wavered.
Since even the Grand Elder was advocating for this, wouldn't submitting to Yuan Manor no longer be considered a betrayal?
Seeing this, Yi Yang's expression darkened. However, after noticing the cold and emotionless face of the Elder Tian Ming, he pondered for a moment before speaking in a deep voice: "Fine. Since that's the case, from this day onward, the Tian Ming Sect ceases to exist in the Central Plains. All elders and disciples will join Yuan Manor!"
After all, an arm cannot overpower the thigh—especially when there's an internal traitor like the Elder Tian Ming leading the charge. Yi Yang could only go along with the flow.
Seeing the Tian Ming Sect unanimously agree to submit, Mo Yu nodded in satisfaction.
As one of the two major sects, the strength of the Tian Ming Sect surpassed that of the Flower Sect and was on par with Yuan Manor before Mo Yu broke through to Dou Sheng.
Now, with the smooth annexation of the Tian Ming Sect, Yuan Manor's strength would see a significant boost in a short time. Although it still couldn't rival the Hall of Souls, it would be an immensely powerful force in the Central Plains.
After subduing the Tian Ming Sect, Mo Yu turned to the Elder Tian Ming and said, "The subsequent reorganization is in your hands. Make sure nothing goes wrong. Also, weed out those who have only submitted in words. Yuan Manor doesn't need troublemakers."
"Understood, Manor Lord." The Elder Tian Ming respectfully replied.
As his words fell, the Elder Tian Ming leaped toward the Tian Ming Sect's headquarters to begin the annexation process.
Witnessing Mo Yu's arrangements, many powerful figures within the Tian Ming Sect were visibly moved.
To those senior members familiar with the Elder Tian Ming, it seemed impossible for the cunning and shrewd elder to submit to Yuan Manor so easily, let alone to a younger generation like Mo Yu.
Most likely, the Elder Tian Ming's allegiance was merely a tactic for self-preservation—a delaying strategy. Mo Yu, being so young, must have failed to notice this.
Could it be that the Elder Tian Ming was biding his time, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike back? If so, they had to support him wholeheartedly and not let his efforts go to waste!
While many experts of the Tian Ming Sect were entertaining such thoughts, none noticed the faint and eerie black lotus mark flickering on the Elder Tian Ming's forehead.
After subduing the Tian Ming Sect, Mo Yu entrusted it to the Elder Tian Ming and led Yuan Manor's forces to the Central Region to eradicate the Hall of Souls's sub-branches.
Yuan Manor's campaign of revenge lasted nearly ten full days. During this time, no fewer than twenty sub-branches of the Hall of Souls were obliterated under Yuan Manor's forces.
Having assimilated the Tian Ming Sect, Yuan Manor now boasted four Ban Sheng experts and one One-Star Dou Sheng, making it a peak-level force. The Hall of Souls's sub-branches barely put up a fight.
This surge of strength also sent shockwaves through many factions. Previously, Yuan Manor had quietly developed in its corner without showing excessive strength, causing some factions to underestimate it.
However, Yuan Manor's actions this time made them realize that this was no docile lamb—it was a tiger, ready to strike and devour when provoked.
As the ten days of destruction passed, Yuan Manor's main forces began to retreat.
During Yuan Manor's vengeful campaign, the Hall of Souls's headquarters remained surprisingly calm. They did not send any reinforcements but instead gathered their forces, denying Yuan Manor any opportunities. This prompted Mo Yu to order a retreat.
The Hall of Souls, for once, had chosen to back down.
Mo Yu, however, did not relax. The Hall of Souls was notorious for its scheming. Their inaction likely meant they were consolidating their strength, waiting for the right moment to deal a fatal blow to Yuan Manor.
Faced with this looming threat, Mo Yu remained vigilant. Even as a Dou Sheng, he couldn't underestimate the terrifying might of the Hall of Souls and the Hun Clan.
In the original timeline, Xiao Yan had to painstakingly seek allies, even after breaking through to Dou Sheng, to resist the Hall of Souls's oppression. Through Yao Lao's connections, he successfully formed the Sky Mansion Alliance with the Pill Tower, Burning Flame Valley, and the Flower Sect to counter the Hall of Souls.
This demonstrated the Hall of Souls's overwhelming deterrence.
However, Mo Yu was not without backing. With the Lei Clan as a strong ally, even if the Hall of Souls or the Hun Clan wanted to make a move, they had to consider whether they could afford the consequences.
If the Hun Clan were to launch a large-scale attack on the Lei Clan and destroy them, it would likely provoke panic among the other ancient clans, especially the Gu Clan.
The mysterious disappearance of the Ling Clan would undoubtedly draw suspicion toward the Hun Clan. Even if the Hun Clan was indeed responsible, they wouldn't want to expose themselves at this time.
Thus, for now, Mo Yu wasn't overly concerned about the Hun Clan sending top experts after him or Yuan Manor. Doing so would mean breaking all ties with the Lei Clan.
Mo Yu could imagine the reactions in the Lei Realm upon hearing of his breakthrough to Dou Sheng. Even those ancient beings who had lived for countless years would be astonished, let alone Lei Ying.
For someone like Mo Yu, who possessed the potential to reach the Dou Di realm, Lei Ying would undoubtedly offer his full protection. Should the Hun Clan resort to underhanded tactics, Lei Ying would probably flip the entire Soul Realm upside down.
Yuan City, at the peak of the central tower in Yuan Manor's main hall of deliberation.
This time, Yuan Manor had divided its forces into three groups, led by Mo Yu, She Lao, and Qing Zhi, to eliminate the Hall of Souls's sub-branches. Now that the mission was complete, everyone had returned safely.
"She Lao, thank you for your hard work," Mo Yu said, noticing She Lao's travel-worn appearance. A trace of guilt flashed in his eyes.
"Haha, Yuan Manor isn't just your power; it's my painstaking effort as well. If the Hall of Souls wants to destroy it, they must pay the price," She Lao said with a faint smile before asking, "How's the Tian Ming Sect? Was the integration smooth?"
"With the cooperation of the Elder Tian Ming, everything went smoothly," Mo Yu replied.
"That's good..." She Lao said. He then glanced at Mo Yu in astonishment. Even he hadn't expected Mo Yu to possess methods capable of controlling a high-level Ban Sheng.
The thought of such power still sent chills down his spine.
While Mo Yu and She Lao were talking, a frail old figure walked in—it was Bing Lao, the current leader of the Hundred Weapons Hall.
The moment he saw Mo Yu, Bing Lao chuckled and said, "Congratulations, Manor Lord. The Heavenly Profound Treasure Hall is about to open..."
