Divine Beast Origin
Whoosh!
The sound of wind being torn apart echoed through the boundless sky as four streaks of light shot across the horizon. The sharp, piercing sonic booms trailed behind them as they sped toward their distant destination.
These four figures were none other than Mo Yu, Cai Lin, and their companions. Upon arriving at the Divine Beast Origin, they had immediately locked onto their objective—the Primordial Body Refining Pagoda—and were now rushing toward it at full speed.
They had been traveling rapidly for nearly half a day. Along the way, they encountered several other spirit beast clans. However, due to mutual wariness, no conflicts arose.
"Based on our position, we should be about a day away from the nearest Primordial Body Refining Pagoda," Mang Lie said as he held a beast bone compass. A few light dots flickered on its surface, forming a vaguely discernible map.
At the center of the map was a pagoda-shaped symbol—their ultimate destination.
Mo Yu nodded, remaining calm rather than anxious. As they traveled, he closed his eyes slightly. With a thought, the spiritual energy in the surrounding world surged toward him, continuously absorbed into his body.
As this vast spiritual energy flowed into him, he suddenly noticed something peculiar—an unusual force seeping from within, merging into his flesh and blood. At the same time, his body's blood vitality seemed to become more vigorous.
"So the spiritual energy in this Divine Beast Origin contains a refining force that tempers the body?"
Tracing its source, Mo Yu quickly realized that this refining force originated from the omnipresent primodial Aura lingering within this land.
A smile appeared on his face as he felt the slight but noticeable changes within his body.
"As expected, this place is incredibly beneficial for body refinement."
The thought of reaching the Primordial Body Refining Pagoda filled Mo Yu with even greater anticipation.
If he could advance his Divine Beast Physique to the perfected stage, he would be able to contend against a Seventh-Grade Supreme using only his physical strength!
This journey wasn't just about helping Cai Lin obtain the ancient Heaven Swallowing Python's divine blood—he also needed to push his own strength to new heights. Only by doing so could he catch up to his true self's progress!
Over the next day, Mo Yu and his companions pressed forward without pause. Traveling at full speed, they finally reached the region where the Primordial Body Refining Pagoda was located.
Appearing atop a lone mountain peak, Mo Yu and his companions cast their gazes into the distance.
There, amidst the mountains, stood a massive, ancient city spanning tens of thousands of miles. Though now reduced to ruins, its former grandeur could still be seen in the remnants. In ancient times, this city had undoubtedly been one of the great strongholds of the Divine Beast Origin.
"This is the Grand Desolate City. During ancient times, it was home to one of the dominant forces of this land. Within its ruins lies a Primordial Body Refining Pagoda that has been passed down from that era," Mang Lie explained as he pointed toward the ancient city.
Mo Yu nodded but then narrowed his eyes slightly, scanning the vast land before them.
"It seems this Primordial Body Refining Pagoda has attracted quite the crowd."
Through his keen perception, he could sense powerful auras rapidly approaching from the distant sky. Clearly, they all had their eyes set on the same pagoda.
Moreover, his gaze sharpened as he peered deeper into the ruined city. There were already numerous energy fluctuations present—some had beaten them to the site.
Just as Mo Yu was processing this information, his expression shifted slightly, and he turned his gaze toward a particular direction.
From that distance, several streaks of light shot through the sky.
As they neared, the newcomers also seemed to notice Mo Yu's group. A sharp whoosh cut through the air as they abruptly halted in the skies above them.
"Oh? Look who it is—Cai Lin. I didn't expect the Heaven Swallowing Python Clan to send even its sole Nine-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python into the Divine Beast Origin. Aren't you afraid of dying here?"
A playful yet mocking voice rang out as the figures appeared.
Though the voice was sweet and melodious, the words carried an unmistakable sharpness.
The moment Cai Lin heard it, her expression darkened. She raised her face, a faint smirk of ridicule forming at the corner of her lips.
"Ran Qing. It seems you're still sore about losing to me back then."
Mo Yu also looked up.
Hovering in the air ahead were four figures, led by a woman dressed in red.
She had a tall, curvaceous figure, with delicate yet alluring features. However, at this moment, her charming eyes gleamed with icy hostility, clearly provoked by Cai Lin's response.
Mo Yu frowned slightly, sensing that there was some history between Cai Lin and this Ran Qing.
Sensing his confusion, Mang Yu leaned closer and whispered, "Brother Mo Yu, those people belong to the Red Python Clan. In the past, they would send their younger generation to challenge the bloodline of our Heaven Swallowing Python Clan.
Back then, Cai Lin happened to be home and defeated Ran Qing in a bloodline battle. It seems she's still holding a grudge over something so trivial."
Mo Yu raised an eyebrow.
"The Red Python Clan?"
He nodded slightly in understanding.
This clan was not inferior to the Heaven Swallowing Python Clan in terms of heritage. It was said that their lineage contained traces of the legendary Forest Titan Python, a super divine beast. If fully awakened, their potential would be formidable.
Ran Qing scoffed. "Losing a bloodline battle means nothing. This is the Divine Beast Origin. Here, bloodline alone isn't enough—you need true strength."
She then shifted her gaze toward Mo Yu, her elegant brows lifting in curiosity.
"I heard some rumors before. They said you married a human. I assume this is the one?"
Her eyes scrutinized Mo Yu from head to toe, filled with arrogance and condescension.
"Bringing a mere Sixth-Grade Supreme into the Divine Beast Origin? You must truly value him. But you should be careful—if he dies here, you'll become a widow, Cai Lin."
A cold glint flickered through Mo Yu's eyes, his face darkening. However, he merely cast Ran Qing an indifferent glance, not letting her provoke him.
Still, deep inside, he made a mental note—if the opportunity arose, he would teach her a lesson.
Ran Qing raised an eyebrow at Mo Yu's lack of reaction, a hint of surprise flashing across her gaze. It seemed she hadn't expected such restraint from him.
"That's none of your concern. Worry about yourself instead," Cai Lin replied coldly.
If Ran Qing knew that Mo Yu's true self was a Greater Earthly Supreme, she would probably slap herself for being so arrogant.
Ran Qing smirked. "Such ungrateful words…"
Then, as if suddenly recalling something, she turned to one of her companions and said with a casual smile,
"Ran Ben should have already arrived at the Refining Pagoda ahead of us, right?"
"Heh, with Brother Ran Ben's speed, who among the Seventh Grade Supremes can match him?" A strong member of the Red Python Clan chuckled, his gaze sweeping over Mo Yu and the others with a meaningful smile.
"Ran Ben?"
Upon hearing this name, Mang Lie's eyes narrowed slightly, and a trace of apprehension flickered across his face.
Noticing his reaction, Mo Yu couldn't help but feel curious. He transmitted his voice to Mang Lie and asked, "Who is this Ran Ben?"
Mang Yu also furrowed his brows, his expression somewhat grim as he explained, "Ran Ben is currently the most gifted individual among the younger generation of the Red Python Clan. It's said that he has the greatest chance of awakening the bloodline of the Forest Titan Python.
His strength is formidable. He once fought against a genius from the True Dragon Clan and was not at a disadvantage in the slightest. Today, he is widely recognized as one of the most renowned figures among the younger generation in the Spirit Beast Continent."
Hearing this, Mo Yu finally understood. No wonder Ran Qing was acting so recklessly—she had such a powerful figure backing her.
At this moment, Ran Qing continued to smile as she said, "It seems your target is also that Body Refining Pagoda. That's perfect. When the time comes, I'll have Brother Ran Ben take good care of you all."
The emphasis she placed on the words "take care" was unmistakable. Everyone present understood the underlying threat.
"Are you done talking? If so, kindly leave. We won't be seeing you off." Mo Yu lifted his eyelids slightly and spoke indifferently.
Ran Qing's face instantly turned green with anger at Mo Yu's words. She gritted her teeth and shot him a venomous glare before sneering, "I hope when you meet my Brother Ran Ben later, you'll still be able to smile!"
With that, she no longer lingered. Transforming into a streak of light, she swiftly soared across the sky, heading straight for the ruined city.
Seeing this, Mo Yu and his companions did not delay either. Without hesitation, they turned into four streams of light and charged into the ruins.
The city was vast, with pagoda structures that exuded a primal and ancient aura. In the sky above, countless massive figures roared past, and the land trembled under the resounding cries of beasts.
The deafening beastly roars echoed in their ears, and Mo Yu's eyes flickered with spiritual light. Suddenly, the grand scene before him vanished, and the city reverted to a desolate ruin, its dilapidation filling his vision.
"What a pity, such a magnificent city..." Mo Yu sighed.
Even as he lamented, their figures did not slow down. Like streaks of light, they swiftly headed toward the heart of the vast ruin.
From that direction, they sensed an extremely ancient and primordial energy fluctuation. Clearly, in this ruined city, only the remnants of the Primordial Body Refining Pagoda could possess such immense power.
After nearly half an hour of rapid travel, their speed gradually slowed.
Swish!
The four of them landed atop a crumbling stone building. As soon as they arrived, their gazes locked onto the scene ahead.
The ground in that area was surprisingly intact, unlike the rest of the city, which was riddled with cracks and devastation.
The reason was clear—at the very center of that land stood an ancient, weathered stone pagoda.
The stone pagoda was dark gray, its surface covered in extremely ancient engravings that seemed naturally formed. It stood there silently, radiating a terrifying pressure that made even their physical bodies ache, as if they were on the verge of shattering.
"So this is the Primordial Body Refining Pagoda?"
Mo Yu gazed at the pagoda, feeling an intense surge within his flesh and blood, as if it were boiling. That sensation made him almost lose control and charge in recklessly.
However, he forcibly suppressed the urge. After all, breaking in impulsively could very well lead to instant annihilation.
"This Primordial Body Refining Pagoda has attracted quite the crowd," Mang Lie remarked, shifting his gaze from the pagoda to survey the surroundings with narrowed eyes.
As Mang Lie scanned the area, Mo Yu also noticed several piercing gazes directed at them, locking onto their group of four.
Frowning slightly, Mo Yu followed the most aggressive of those gazes and saw four towering figures standing atop a ruined mountain.
The four were built like iron pagodas, clad in black armor, radiating intense murderous intent.
Their eyes glowed faintly red, and on their foreheads, each bore a single curved, jet-black rhinoceros horn that seemed sharp enough to pierce through the void.
"The Rhino Demon Clan… I didn't expect them to be here as well. Their clan specializes in physical refinement, possessing strength capable of uprooting mountains. Once they engage in battle, they fight like madmen—extremely troublesome opponents," Mang Lie said as he observed them.
Mo Yu nodded slightly. Even from this distance, he could sense the terrifying physical strength of those four. Just a simple movement from them could likely shatter mountains.
Among the four, the one at the forefront was particularly intimidating.
"The leader should be Han Yue, a prodigy of the Rhino Demon Clan's younger generation," Mang Lie remarked, his tone carrying a hint of caution. "He's also a Seventh Grade Supreme, and with his unmatched physical strength, his combat ability is exceptional."
Mo Yu nodded slightly upon hearing this.
"The western side should be members of the Flame Crane Clan… Over there are the Dragon Ape Clan and the Devouring Crocodile Clan. This is turning into quite the spectacle," Mang Lie commented, his expression growing more serious.
Mo Yu remained indifferent. However, at that moment, he suddenly sensed a sharp, domineering gaze sweeping toward them, enveloping their group of four.
All four of them felt it and looked up. In the distance, atop the ruins of an ancient building, five figures stood quietly.
Among them were the three individuals they had previously quarreled with—Ran Qing and her two companions.
Clearly, these five belonged to the Red Python Clan.
And if that was the case, then the one leading them was most likely the very person Ran Qing had mentioned earlier—Ran Ben, the prodigy of the Red Python Clan.
