"There's enough crime in Roppongi for me to get used to crime though…"
"Even with the increase in petty crime, areas like Hosu have much more brutal criminals compared to what you'd find in Roppongi. Why are you even complaining? It's like 5 minutes by air travel."
"I wasn't really complaining" Izuku defended himself as he sheathed his Katana and walked beside his mentor "it was more like an observation."
"a pissy one."
"Kid! Focus on evacuation and rescue! Fight only if you have to!" Gran Torino said as a nearby building was hit by an explosion.
"Right!"
Izuku rushed to where the building was starting to crumble, pulling people away at insane speeds using his [FLASH ARROW, LONG VERSION].
He paused after saving a family from falling rubble, searching for people to save.
'This area's clear.'
He moved on, looking at the fight between the Nomu and the Heroes but not interfering.
Maybe it was the second of focus, or maybe he'd been unconsciously started putting pieces together. Either way, his thoughts went from 'what's happening' to 'why is it happening'.
'The League has no reason to attack Hosu.'
'Hosu.'
'Recently was in the papers.'
'In the papers because of a hero attacked.'
'Who attacked the hero?'
'Hero Killer Stain.'
'Hero attacked?'
'Ingenium'
'Who do I know close with him?'
'Iida-Kun'
'Where did he go to intern again?'
"Tenya, where did you go!?" a nearby hero cried out as he tried to douse the flames.
'Manual. Interned with Manual, right here.'
'Iida, Hosu, Ingenium attacked by Hero Killer.'
His eyes widened as he understood the implication.
'Iida went after the Hero Killer.'
And then he was off.
He dashed through alleys, not even glancing to the sides.
He let Observation Haki do what it did best. Sense.
"You shall be an offering to a just world."
The sound came from about 10 lanes away, and even with his insanely enhanced senses he barely heard the whisper.
"SHUT UP! NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY YOU'RE JUST A CRIMINAL WHO HURT MY BROTHER"
'I'll barely make it in time!' Izuku cursed, still dashing through lanes at 30%.
Just as he had figured, he came in contact with the scene just as Stain began to swing his sword.
There was no time to think, just GO.
Pushing his body to 50% (10% more than what he could handle at a constant rate), he moved.
Even with the boost in speed, he didn't have enough time to pull his blade out to deflect, or kick Stain away.
So, he used his own body as a shield, pushing Iida out of the path of harm.
"Wha- who the hell are you?" Stain growled as he saw his would-be-victim be replaced by a glowing Izuku.
"The Light Hero: Beacon." Izuku said as he stood up and pulled his own katana out and held it in one hand, Stain's blade having just passed through him earlier. "I came to save you, Iida-Kun."
He glanced at the crying Iida.
"Can you move? We need to get to a populated area, get some backup."
"I can't move" Iida muttered "Ever since I got slashed, I can't move my body…"
Izuku nodded, before his eyes widened.
"There's another person." He swore, before looking up at Stain.
"You've been productive this evening."
Stain stared at him.
"…do you like…not talk or…?"
"I talk." Stain said "I am not used to people talking to me though."
"Ah" Izuku nodded "Social Anxiety?"
"No" Stain snapped "People you're stabbing tend to be unable to carry conversation"
"That also makes sense I guess"
"This is pointless" Stain growled as he threw a couple of throwing knifes that just passed through Izuku.
"Yeah, so was that" Izuku said, still not moving to attack with one of his hands behind his back.
"How long do you plan to just stand there?"
"As long as it takes for you to start running."
"Run? Where would I run to?"
"Either towards me, or away from here. Either way, I get the chance to get these two to help."
Seconds after saying that, he moved his other hand to hold the katana properly.
Stain narrowed his eyes at that.
'This child most likely alerted someone using.'
He sighed, before dashing forward at a speed that the non-Haki infused Izuku could barely pick up.
'His target…isn't me.'
Izuku swung at where Stain was about to be, before suddenly changing directions and launching a [SOLAR THRUST] where Stain was about to jump to.
Stain barely managed to bring up his sword to block the attack, and still got pushed back against a wall, hard.
"How could you predict my moves like that?" the man questioned "your quirk is not a brain enhancement type."
"My quirk is an everything enhancement type, including eyes. I could see you tense the muscles in your legs for a jump before you even started running."
It was all bullshit, obviously. Izuku's left eye slightly glowing red because of his sudden activation of Observation Haki clearly showing that.
But Stain didn't know that.
Now that he had seen Izuku's reaction time, as well as the uselessness of trying to hit him, surely he would retreat.
Is what Izuku thought, but Stain instead brought out another knife, this one made of a light green crystal instead of the usual metal.
"Is that your lucky charm?" Izuku asked with a small smirk.
"It may very well be the cause of our demise" Stain said, tone deadly serious "So I would suggest dropping the jokes."
Izuku didn't drop the smile, but he did tense. The aura around that thing wasn't normal, and even though he'd normally things like that just pass through, he decided that he wanted to stay far away from it.
"Why's it glowing though?" he asked.
"it's made of a special crystal only harvestable from the bottom of the sea." Stain said as he gripped his sword in his right hand and the knife held in reverse grip in the left. "And why it's glowing is something you will see right now."
And then he moved.
Again, Izuku saw through his movements pretty easily with Observation Haki.
He moved accordingly, using his Katana for a [SOLAR SLASH] that forced Stain to duck, and a burst of speed from his [FLOW STATE, 35%] to easily kick him in the face.
He grinned as Stain went flying (the knife having been knocked from his hand) crashed into the far wall.
In that time, Izuku rushed to the paralyzed pro hero and quickly brought him back to where Iida was.
He then pointed up, releasing a huge beam of light that continued going up till it hit the clouds.
'In this darkness, no way anyone ignores that.'
"Why didn't you do that earlier?" the pro groaned.
"If I did that, he might have decided to cut his losses and run. You were near him, so he'd probably still kill you before leaving."
And if Izuku moved to stop that, the maniac would jump over Izuku's sword swing and chuck a trio of throwing knives straight at Iida's throat.
This wasn't stuff Izuku was just making up in his head. It was what he had 'seen' through Observation Haki.
He didn't know how exactly he'd been able to see an actual minute into the future, but that wasn't the point right now.
Izuku froze as he heard Stain's laughter as he carried Iida and Native on one shoulder each out of the alley.
Immediately, he dropped down to the ground, ignoring a bunch of throwing knives (HOW MANY DOES THIS GUY HAVE!?) and dropping Iida and Native on the ground.
"How are you still awake!?" Izuku questioned as he pulled his Katana out again and pointed the tip at Stain "that was a hard hit."
Stain's face, half covered in blood from an injury near his right eyebrow, was like a statue's as he slowly bent to pick up the green knife, and licked it.
Izuku blinked in disgust, before suddenly falling forward.
"What!?"
"My quirk" Stain said slowly as he picked up his katana and started walking towards Izuku "allows me to paralyze anyone whose blood I have ingested."
"But you didn't get any of mine!" Izuku cried out in protest "I don't even remember if I have blood, with a body like this."
Stain stopped for a second, before pointing at Izuku's right leg.
Sure enough, there was a cut on it, less than an inch long, but it floored Izuku.
The blade…should have just passed through.
He whipped his head up to see the glowing knife.
"That thing… it erases quirks?" he muttered.
"no." Stain refuted "Sea-prism does not negate powers, but brings powers like yours down to follow the same rules as the rest of us."
While Stain monologued, Izuku tried to use Haki to overpower Stain's suppression, almost succeeding before a shot of pain at an unbelievable level shot through his body.
He had to hold back a groan of pain, and looked down at his sliced ankle to see the cut glowing green.
"The cut…poisoned me?" he gasped.
"Most things made of sea prism would not do that" Stain informed him, finally having made way to where Izuku lay "but my knife was custom made to leave shards inside wounds."
"How does that even work?"
"The maker's quirk allowed him to put such a function."
He then brought his sword up, aiming for Izuku's neck "with it flowing through your veins, your whole body will be vulnerable."
Izuku shut his eyes tightly, trying to burn the pieces of sea stone in his body with an overwhelming amount of Haki.
But it wasn't enough.
And the blade never came.
When Izuku opened his eyes, he saw that Stain had moved past him and was standing above Iida.
"Wait" he cried out desperately "weren't you gonna 'cull' me first!?"
"You…are worth letting live" Stain said resolutely "you carry the true spirit of a hero, and great potential too."
With that, he swung down to end the life of Tenya Iida.
Or he would have, if he hadn't had to dodge a torrent of flames.
"Midoriya, at times like this you should be more specific."
Todoroki Shoto (Hero name Crimson Frost) arrived holding his phone in his right hand and flames emitting from his left.
Izuku let out a laugh as he saw Todoroki stow the phone away in his pocket.
"Your timing is amazing, Todoroki-Kun."
Todoroki nodded, moving forward to cover Izuku as well.
"He paralyzes you if he licks your blood." Izuku said, still trying to purge the poison from his system "he had a special knife to cut me."
Todoroki nodded at the information, eyes still not leaving Stain.
"No need to worry about that" Todoroki said, right leg raised, before stamping on the ground to release a wave of ice. "In a few minutes, the pros will be here. Your beacon was a good call too."
"No need to worry you say?"
Todoroki had to dodge to the side, and still would have gotten the small cut licked if it wasn't for the ice pillar he made to block Stain's katana.
At the same time, the sword Stain had thrown up started falling, causing Todoroki to look up for a second too long.
A second enough for Stain's tongue to reach the cut.
With a yell, Todoroki let out a burst of flames, forcing Stain to jump away from the dual-haired teen.
"That was close…" he muttered, taking a few steps back to dodge the next strike.
All this time, Iida's constant stream of "why are you doing this, please stop" had been going on.
"I inherited my brother's name. I need to be the one to do it!"
"You inherited it?" Todoroki snapped at Iida. "the Ingenium I've known has never made that kind of a face. I guess there's a lot going on in your family too, huh?"
Twitch.
Izuku grinned as he finally felt his hand move.
[FLOW, 30%]
He dashed forward, immediately charging forward and launching a kick at Stain's incoming blade.
It wasn't the green one, so Izuku didn't hesitate to let it pass through the kick and used his arm to throw the man back.
"His quirk's got a time limit" he said as he jumped back to stand beside Todoroki.
"What kind though?" The dual haired teen muttered.
"Must be a pattern" Izuku responded "can't be amount of people or time frozen, both of these two were hit long before me."
"So either amount of blood or blood type" Todoroki concluded "He only got a drop from you right?"
"yeah. Both Iida-Kun and Native-san have a lot more than that on them, so it's probably amount."
Stain chuckled.
"Okay, that immediately changes my answer. Everyone tell me your blood types please. I'm O type."
Todoroki shook his head at Izuku's whimsical nature, while Iida and Native told him what he had asked.
"I'm A type…"
"Mine's B…"
"Blood type is correct" Stain confirmed
"Why are you giving us the answer?" Izuku muttered as he got into a fighting stance, his weapon dropped too far to get right now.
Todoroki sent out a wave of ice again with a thrust, but Stain dodged easily.
"I'd like to take these two and run but…"
"We don't have the opening" Izuku finished his sentence "we either take him down or hold him off till backup comes."
Todoroki glanced at Izuku.
"Even with that knife, you still think we can beat him?"
Izuku took in a deep breath, before releasing it with a grin reminiscent of All Might's.
"You think we can't?"
It was more of a challenge than an actual answer, and Todoroki answered with a flare of his flames.
"All right then. You get in close; I'll provide support."
"Sounds good."
[FLASH ARROW, REFLECT VERSION]
Izuku bounced off a wall, the trail of light behind him highlighting his path for a second.
It was new, to use hit and run tactics against an opponent whose body type should have allowed for a one-hit KO.
He swept Stain's right leg, leaving him off balance as he launched himself up again, bouncing from the walls thrice before landing right beside Todoroki, who had sent out a torrent of flames.
Even with one leg, Stain managed to get out of the way.
'Once more…'
He dashed forward again, intentionally overshooting before doing a 180-degree direction change to slam his knee into Stain's back.
[DUCK!]
Izuku abandoned the attack halfway, turning the leap into a roll that just barely avoided a swipe at his eye.
[MOVE TO THE SIDE!]
He felt Todoroki's heat spike, and dashed back to avoid getting caught in the sea of flames.
Which Stain dodged.
Again.
And then Stain brought the knife up near his mouth.
Izuku tried to dash forward blindly, trying to get to Stain before the man licked his blood and activated the paralysis.
But he was too late.
He barely got a step in before crumbling down to the ground again.
'My shoulder' he swore as he felt the sea prism poisoning again 'he nicked my shoulder when I rolled.'
He could only watch in despair as Todoroki constantly created distance, and Stain constantly covered it in moments.
'This goddamn poison'
It was getting harder to burn it out of his body with pure Haki, his own normal blood flow having sped up due to the adrenaline rushing through his veins.
'Your blood.'
Izuku blinked, confused at the sudden voice in his head.
'What?'
'Your blood still drips from your wound. Grasp it, pressurise it into a force that can be used to cut through your enemy.'
'Who the hell is this!?'
'I am the sixth.'
There was no need to ask what that meant.
The sixth user of one for all, and apparently he was showing Izuku how to use his quirk, like Shanks that day in the USJ.
'Feel that drop of blood. Take into your palms, and clasp it in your hands'
Izuku was able to move his hands below the elbow, but it didn't feel right.
It was like controlling a character from one of those ragdoll games, where every small movement had to be done manually rather than by feeling.
He barely managed to get a drop of the blood from his shoulder onto his right hand, and clap his hands together like he was praying.
'now focus. Push the blood into itself, let your energy fill it like a balloon with no limits.'
His concentration wavered as he saw Todoroki's left arm almost get cut off it wasn't for Iida's sudden recovery and Recipro burst enhanced kick.
"I apologise for wrapping you two up in something you're not involved with." Iida began.
"I swear, I'll aim my punches at you next Iida-Kun" Izuku complained.
"But I cannot allow you to shed any more blood" Iida declared, ignoring Izuku's interruption.
"…sorry for not letting you finish"
'your wound has already closed, that blood drop will be your only chance at using this.'
'Right.'
He closed his eyes, focusing on the blood drop in his hands, throwing all of his light inside it.
'It's different from how my family used it.' The vestige of the sixth mused silently to himself 'because of his unique constitution, rather than a beam of high-pressure blood, it should be a beam of light.'
'I suppose rather than blood, a better name for that could be…'
[PIERCING LIGHT]
Izuku aimed with the gap between his thumbs, releasing a beam of light so fast it went through Stain's katana and buried itself into the wall behind him.
All four(+ the immobile Native)'s eyes widened as they saw what Izuku had just done.
Izuku immediately stopped the attack, fearing hurting his friends because of such an insane move.
'Tell me if the attack's that fast!' he complained to the sixth user.
'…[piercing blood] was not that fast. I suppose the time spent in one for all has strengthened it beyond what I had assumed.'
'how fast was it originally?'
'According to Tsukumo-san, it was around Mach 1 when not enhanced?'
'…'
'Sixth, you couldn't have warned him?'
Izuku flinched as he suddenly heard Shanks's voice.
'My apologies, Ninth.'
'Uh, its fine, really.'
'Kid, stop paying attention to us old timers and go back to your fight!'
'Right!'
Izuku sprang up, throwing a punch at Stain, who for some reason was moving slower than before.
He went flying, crashing onto some 2nd floor balcony.
'Using [piercing blood] for the first time has essentially dialled your physical capabilities up to a 120%. Even your use of third's power has been enhanced because of that.'
Good to know.
"Iida-Kun, is your arm alright?" he asked as he saw the knives in Iida's right hand.
"That doesn't matter right now. We need to finish this." Iida said resolutely "Todoroki, can you freeze my radiators?"
While Todoroki bent down to do just that, Izuku focused on 'seeing' the next 30 seconds.
"He's going to try and cut down Todoroki first" he whispered at his friends "he'll use Iida-Kun as a springboard to get to Todoroki."
"So then instead of me, you should go first" Iida nodded "Midoriya first to stun him. Then Todoroki to immobilize him, and I will knock him unconscious.
"Right!"
"Understood"
Izuku powered [FLOW STATE] up again, pushing himself to 40% constant and crouched down.
"NOW!"
At Iida's signal, he jumped up.
Probably because of the blood in his eyes from a heads injury from before, Stain wasn't able to properly see and dodge, giving Izuku the chance to give his right side a good karate chop.
It wasn't enough though, and Izuku aimed with his [PIERCING LIGHT] again to break all the knives he had stored at his hips, grazing the man's arm slightly and causing a deep cut.
The surprised villain could only swear as he fell down faster, getting hit by a huge blast of flames before his lower half was trapped by ice.
For the finisher, Iida used [RECIRPO EXTEND] to strengthen a kick right at Stain's neck, completely knocking him unconscious.
