"Brandon," Ross called calmly.
"Master."
Brandon emerged from the shadows without making a sound.
One moment, the corner behind Ross was empty.
The next, the giant man was standing there with his hands clasped behind his back.
Since they were alone, Brandon used the proper form of address.
In public, he always called Ross "Boss" to avoid unnecessary attention.
Behind closed doors, however, there was only one title he would ever use.
Master.
Ross smiled faintly.
"Kindly welcome our guests. Make sure you show them our hospitality."
"As you wish, Master."
Brandon bowed his head.
Without another word, his body faded into the darkness.
The room became silent once more.
Ross leisurely poured himself another cup of tea.
Far away, the three men continued their discussion about what they found in Falling Leaf City.
Crack.
A twig snapped. The sound was tiny. Yet all three men instantly spun around.
