Sue's voice cracked in a desperate plea, as he bowed "Please forgive the oversight, your Lordship!"
Leylin's aura eased, he lowered his wand, the coldness in his eyes decreasing, "Tell me about the airship."
Sue's heart was relieved, his mind snapping to respond, his voice quick, "Yes, sir. The ship is called 'Wisdom' and it's operated by a few factions majorly Elder David who is a rank 2 Magus in Lighthouse of the Night. Our ship is a commercial line, which is borded by Magi, acolytes and also used to carry resources. As a holder of esteemed Magus Cabin, My lord can disembark with a concealed identity. The conductor can't check customers unless it's a serious situation, your identity stays hidden for obvious reasons. You can follow me to board."
Leylin nodded and used the wand to tap his face, a helmet materialized as its dark metal covered his features, only his brown eyes visible.
"Okay, lead the way," Leylin said, his voice muffled by the helmet.
Sue nodded eagerly, as he lead the way, soon the reached the beach, they stepped forward as sand crunched under their steps.
The airship's anchor has dropped, stairs lowered by deck workers, the port alive with movement.
A girl in black stood at the stairs, a Level 2 acolyte, her posture was respectful as she bowed in a magus salute when Leylin approached, her right hand over her chest, knees bending slightly.
Leylin was indifferent, dismissing her after his brown eyes under the helmet scanned her briefly.
Sue's voice was light as he whispered, "I'll lead Lord Magus to his cabin."
The girl obediently stepped aside, the stairs creaked under Leylin's steps as he climbed.
"Let's me take you to your cabin sir," Sue said.
"Sure," Leylin nodded, boarding the airship, he saw that its deck was massive, the building atop it a fortress of wood and steel.
Leylin and Sue were like ants in this massive structure, the deck's torches flaring as they passed, the engine room's dark expanse lit by twin rows of flames, the air thick with oil and magic, soon they stood before a cabin numbered 26.
Sue's voice was clear, "Sir, this is your cabin, number 26. You can eat in the cafeteria or have food delivered inside. You're free to roam the ship, except the engine room—all accommodations are open to your Lordship."
"When do we take off?" Leylin asked, his voice sounded a bit impatient.
Sue promptly answered, fearing his wrath, "Tomorrow morning, sir. We're loading cargo and checking systems for a safe flight."
"I see..We would be going to Andre Town right? How do I travel further to Teljose city?"
"Sir?" Sue hesitated for a second before he answered, "You would need to take a carriage or steed for the rest of the journey."
"How long would that take?"
"2-3 months if you hurried my Lord."
"That long?"
"Yes sir, Teljose city doesn't allow airship from our company so you can only take this route."
"Okay, you can go," Leylin sighed dismissing Sue, he then entered the cabin which had a bed, a table, a small meditation area, and a couch, the room wasn't too huge but it was enough for one person.
As Leylin stepped into the dimly lit chamber, the faint glow of candles illuminated casting shadows on the stone walls.
He shrugged off his armour suit, the metal glinting, as he lets it fall to the floor with a soft thud.
Settling into a small meditation area, he crosses his legs, the salty scent of sea hanging heavy in the air.
"Shhhaaa Haaasshhh... " Leylin's lips parted, and a sharp, serpentine hiss escaped with a commanding tone.
Following his words from deep within the folds of his robe, a white-eyed snake slithers out, its scales shimmering in the candlelight. The White-Eyed Void Snake opened its mouth, jaws stretching wide, and a dark, viscous potion bottle appeared in Leylin's hand.
The brew which was crafted from darkness crystal, black horrall snake blood, rare herbs, and his own masterful skill was pulsing with power resonating with his Cursed Bloodline Codex.
He grabbed the potion, he has used twice the amount of blood essence to create this bottle, without wasting any time he downs it in one swift gulp.
"Haaahh!"
A red hue ignited in his brown eyes, his power surging like a storm within. His eyes snap shut, neck veins bulging, skin cracking faintly at the edges as the raw energy tears through him.
He clenches his jaw, its been three months since he last used blood potion, now he was determined to use every ounce of will to push his elemental conversion to 80%, his spiritual force clawing toward peak Rank 1 Magus strength before reaching Teljose City.
...
One day later.
The airship named 'Wisdom' started it's journey along the pre-determined route.
It would take the airship three days to go from Dock Nick to the next one.
Gamerot City was its final destination because the place was where the some Light and Dark Magi organizations dwelled. Leylin's stop was Andre Town, from where he would take a carriage or steed to Teljose city.
Direct aviation of different Magi Organization wasn't allowed in Teljose city because they only allowed airship affiliated with Light Magus who backed the city.
Dock Nick was on the opposite side of the second dock. It would take months for one to travel from one side to another on land.
They finally arrived at the next dock three days later.
Dock Seahawk, it was the dock where a few Magi disembarked. The Human Faced Lion's Eye and Hand of Femke's Magi organization territories were here.
Many people boarded the ship at the dock. More than thirty acolytes and about ten Magi, all heading to different places.
....
Inside Leylin's cabin, a corpse of Ashwyrm Hatchling was at the corner. The dark blood on the floor made the room stink.
Leylin stood beside a wooden table in the middle of the room with one of the Ashwyrm Hatchling' corpses right in front of him. The body was completely intact. Only a long metal needle could be seen at its temples. Blood was dripping down the needle slowly.
The Ashwyrm Hatchling is a serpent-like creature said to be born in the heart of dying volcanoes. It is born glowing red-hot, made of magma and ash, and hardens into stone as it ages. From birth to death, the Ashwyrm lives only three hours.
In the first hour, it takes the form of a playful, fire-breathing infant that dances through lava flows.
In the second hour, It grows large, developing wings of obsidian and a temper as fierce as firestorms.
In the third and final hour, It becomes sluggish, its body cracking and cooling. Near death, it curls into a spiral and hardens into a stone sculpture, often mistaken for ancient ruins.
The Ashwyrm Hatchling body was facing up and its large wings were hanging down the table. Leylin walked around the table before realizing that the torches on the wall did not bring enough light to the room.
His brows furrowed. With a flick of his finger, a small bright fireball appeared beside his face and the gentle light helped him to observe the body better. The fireball just floated there without moving.
He was satisfied with the light and started checking the creature's head.
He scrunched up his brows and slightly tapped the needle around its temple. The needle left the creature's body by itself and dropped to the floor.
The creature's neck was covered in dimly magic radiating scales.
Leylin thought for a while and before he withdrew a silver scalpel in his right hand.
*CHI*
He carefully cut the creature's abdomen open and started observing, there was not a single drop of blood in this creature's body.
He put his hands inside and slowly removed its organs one by one. After several minutes, some of the creature's organs had been lined up on the table.
"Wait, this thing has no bones or marrow? Is that why it doesn't have any stem cells? How does it even produce blood then? And the whole respiratory system is also missing?" Leylin was surprised.
"Liver, spleen are present, they can probably produce stem cells and blood cells, it also has a heart, stomach, and intestine, but where's the lung?" he muttered.
Leylin stopped for a second and started removing the reproductive organs. He quickly cut it open and saw a small red thing inside.
An embryo of Ashwyrm Hatchling. It was about the size of a pea and it was turning dark purple.
'A new hatchling is born from the corpse of another.. But they also randomly appear around some dead volcanic area, there is no way a creature with such a small lifespan can migrate...'
Leylin slightly nodded before putting the embryo on the side. The only thing he had not checked yet was its eyes. Their pupils were yellow and looked similar to the ones cats had.
'Now that I have a general understanding of its physical structure, I should start extracting its blood.' He walked to the other corner of the room.
He started to set up a large glass bottle with a long black metal pipe on the creature's neck.
Leylin clapped his hands and a flame appeared below the glass bottle.
He cut the creature's neck open with the scalpel and started harvesting its blood with a large metal beaker while the bottle was being heated up.
It took him two minutes for a few drips of blood to start dripping.
A blue color blood came out of it after being squeezed by Leylin.
'After spending tens of thousands of magic crystals on their corpses, it's the only one with essence blood.' Leylin twirled the blue blood in the tube, the Ashwyrm Hatchling is a very peculiar creatures with an unbelievably short life span and to extract any blood from it is a tall order, Leylin had published mission to collect their corpses and only after examining hundreds of them in the last 2 year did he found one with enough bloodline purity to extract a small bit of blood.
'Little but enough, with this my plan is ready to be executed. Now the only wait is this journey.'
One month later…
The Wisdom finally crossed Golden Desert and reached Andre Town. It only stopped once at a random dock for maintenance before heading to the town.
The next afternoon.
The sun was slowly sinking into the horizon.
White and black vultures were soaring through the sky under the dim sunlight. Andre Town was busy as usual.
The heavy anchors were dropped as many people waiting on the dock.
Leylin walked down the boarding ladder. He was wearing the green armour, he went to an inn, had lunch and immediately set off towards Teljose city.
