Greetings! Welcome to the first iteration of the muman files.
This specific file outlines the main history of the Super Society as well as all events leading to the present day.
Most of this information is unavailable to the public eye, so none of what you learn here leaves this room. We will be carrying out future investigations and producing new files, so this serves as our main backbone.
Enjoy!
This timeline details the historical and recent events that set the stage for the current narrative, concluding just before Max's direct interaction with Jake Murphy.
I. The Ancient Past: Wars, The First Five, and Canman's Origins (2100 to 2130 AD)
January 1, 2100: The Muman War officially begins.
During the Muman War the Shadow Invasion also takes place, where an army of alien monsters called the Shadowclan invade the Earth to convert it for their dark god, Umbra, led by the Baron.
During this period, the legendary First Five (comprising The Mind, Starfighter, Terrapin, Queen of Hearts, and Mystic Knight) emerge.
They make the ultimate sacrifice to stop the Shadow Invasion and simultaneously bring an end to the Muman War. Their heroic actions become a source of inspiration for future generations.
January 20, 2100: The Muman War concludes, having lasted 20 days.
Late January 2100: Cammy Hampton (who will later become Canman) is born a muman, shortly after the end of the Muman War.
Following the war, mumans are officially outlawed by the government.
In this same year, the Lost Light cult is formed. They are a group dedicated to worshipping the Shadowclan and praying for their rearrival. They follow a prophecy which is said to happen in the next 50 years.
Approx. 2118: Tired of the restrictions imposed on mumans, Cammy Hampton runs away from his home in Canary City, North Commonwealth, and begins his career as the vigilante Canman.
Approx. 2119: After approximately one year of vigilante work, Canman gains significant recognition as a powerful figure, on par with established vigilantes like Hawk Knight and Captain Rocket.
Approx. 2120: Milten Morningstar (Head of Milten Industries) makes his first approach to Canman. Milten informs Canman of a refugee crisis unfolding in Yugoslavia.
Canman intervenes, successfully saving the refugees, but this act results in him becoming an internationally wanted figure in Yugoslavia, causing an international incident.
Canman also battles Radioactive Man, a Yugoslavian agent attempting to apprehend him. Captain Rocket, a government sanctioned hero, is dispatched by the Commonwealth government to apprehend both Canman and Radioactive Man.
Canman and Radioactive Man are forced to cooperate against Captain Rocket, leading to Radioactive Man feeling he owes Canman a significant debt. Canman then lays low for about a year.
Approx. 2121: Milten Morningstar contacts Canman again, this time warning him of a cult attempting to summon a demon king to Earth. Canman comes out of hiding to confront this new threat and deals with it, but some of the cult members escape.
Approx. 2122: Canman teams up with Hawk Knight and Captain Rocket to battle the demon king Megalo for the first time. They achieve a victory, but Megalo manages to escape to rebuild his power.
Following Megalo's escape, Canman and Captain Rocket seek the help of Magika Daspell, a powerful Super and seer. They team up with Hawk Knight once more to fight and temporarily defeat Megalo.
Approx. 2123: Thanks to Captain Rocket's persistent efforts and Canman's demonstrated heroics, the Commonwealth government officially recognizes Canman as a legitimate Super.
He is subsequently included in the freshly formed Super Society along with new Supers like Mr. White, Major Payne, and Forest Fire. Canman's rivalry with Major Payne begins within the Super Society.
Meanwhile, Captain Rocket is sent on a mission to stop the mad scientist Dr. Bolt from making a doomsday weapon to sell to Yugoslavia. He succeeds but discovers the weapon is the man's own daughter. He takes her into hiding in secret so the government doesn't get their hands on her. Her name is Paulina.
Approx. 2124: Radioactive Man forms his own team that he calls the Legion, joined by Sno, Dr. Hoo, and Dr. Small. The government captures a magic user called Mysticon and forces him to fight in the Super Society.
He accepts as long as his private magic missions aren't interfered with. Major Payne stops a major muman trafficking ring, and the victims he saved decide to form their own team they call K.O. Led by Goldborne, it consists of Astound, Wolf, and Battlefield.
Forest Fire joins a group of mumans on a mission to stop an alien monster called the Worldeater from consuming the Earth. She then asks them to join the Super Society. They accept and are dubbed the Planeteers. They are Max Flame, Hydrant, Pine, Rox, and Cloud.
Dr. White establishes his own prison for muman criminals called the Cage. The government, impressed with his facility, dubs it the main prison for all muman criminals. The government initiates a draft to find more Supers for the Super Society, and the team reaches up to 69 members. However, a multitude of them are inexperienced.
Approx. 2125: Megalo returns and launches a devastating attack on the Super Society. The intense battle results in severe casualties, with over half of the organization's then 69 members being killed. Canman confronts and finally defeats Megalo once and for all.
Following his decisive victory over Megalo, Canman is appointed Head of the Super Society. Under his leadership, and with Major Payne growing closer to him, the Super Society expands to 109 members, achieving an all time low in crime rates.
2129: Jake Murphy is born.
II. The Intermediate Years (2136 to 2144 AD)
2136: A meteorite crashes in the Arctic and is taken by the Commonwealth government. It is revealed to be [redacted].
2137: Mr. E re emerges and creates the Animal Farm in [redacted]. Multiple people go missing soon after.
2138: For the first time ever, an Atlantean gains muman abilities. She is then shunned by her people and exiled to the surface world. Her name is Stacya.
Approx. 2140: After going on a secret government mission, Captain Rocket realizes the corruption of the Commonwealth government and forms a team of his own outside their control.
During this broader incident, Captain Rocket creates the Danger Squad, which is led by Hawk Knight and includes Diamond Light, Blur, Claw, and Ace.
2141: Captain Rocket goes on several small private missions to recruit mumans that would eventually join the Danger Squad. One is the muman Atlantean called Stacya, another is a deformed muman called Mr. Biscuit, and the last is a former numan, a version of a muman that loses their sanity upon gaining their powers, called Zack Scott.
2142 to 2143: The Danger Squad makes headway and stops multiple villains, including Mr. E, the Lost Light cult, the Ogre Clan, the Demon Worshippers, the Mockingjay Foundation, and the Liberation League, from pursuing their nefarious schemes.
2144: The Commonwealth government, jealous of the Danger Squad's success, sends multiple Super teams, including the Legion and K.O., to stop them, but they all fail.
III. The Turning Point (2145 to 2149 AD)
2145: Ace betrays the Danger Squad and brutally kills most of its members. Hawk Knight and Diamond Light are the sole survivors of this attack. Diamond Light finds refuge with her secret lover and disciple of Captain Rocket, Zack. No one other than them knows of this. Captain Rocket scraps the Danger Squad agenda but keeps Zack as his secret sidekick. Stacya lives in Empire City's park for years until she is needed.
Canman goes on a mission of his own, resulting in [redacted].
Zee City is attacked by an Atlantean monster named Galan, and Canman heads to stop him. However, Galan, enraged, turns himself into a bomb and destroys Zee City, killing millions. This attack leads to the discrimination of Atlanteans as a whole.
Stacya is nearly lynched by a mob when she tries to make her debut as a Super. She goes into hiding for years after. Canman is blamed for the incident, and the public's perception of him takes a hit.
Canman's [redacted] mission becomes public and contributes to 20 members quitting the Super Society and half of the organization turning against Canman. Major Payne argues for Canman's removal as Head, but the motion is rejected, and Canman retains his position, continuing to lead the Super Society for years until the present day.
In this same year, Miltron Labs pitches the use of laser gun technology to the Commonwealth government, but the proposal is rejected. Concurrently, the nation of Yugoslavia invades the nation of Banapur, utilizing advanced laser technology.
A scientist named Max is fired from Miltron Labs for dangerous mutation experiments. He is last seen with Mr. E.
2146 AD (4 years before present day): Ronald Bump wins the Commonwealth elections and becomes president.
The previous president, Boe Jiden, is arrested for [redacted] soon after.
Canman tasks Forest Fire to find the next generation of Super Society members as their numbers are dwindling.
Dr. Icon, a scientist rivaling the genius of Dr. Bolt, gives his creations, The Icons, to the Super Society, and in exchange, they do not interfere with his work. Payne is apprehensive of him, but Forest Fire agrees to take them in as she doesn't want them in the hands of that madman.
A group of monsters called the Headhaunters attack Rainbow City, but a mysterious group of multicolored gem based Supers stop them. Forest Fire hears of them and invites them to the Super Society. They are dubbed the Spectrum.
A young boy adventurer, Billy Batson, is tired of his adventures. He retires and decides to create his own Supers for fun, these Supers being Armstrong, Weedicide, Build, and Robosaur. Forest Fire is impressed by his inventions and offers for him and his team to join the Super Society. With nothing better to do, Billy accepts.
Forest Fire finds a young vigilante named Nightingale who claims to be the former sidekick of Hawk Knight. Curious about him, she takes him under her wing. Forest Fire and Nightingale investigate a secret muman testing facility and bust the place, saving several muman children. The muman kids are taken under the care of the Super Society.
Canman, impressed with Forest Fire's efforts, rewards her by going on a date. Although the date is terrible, she remembers it as the best day of her life.
2147 AD (3 years before present day): Miltron Labs pitches the use of new rocket based suits to the Commonwealth government, which is also rejected.
In the same year, a rebellion erupts in Yugoslavia, but it is swiftly quelled by a group of government agents known as the "Rocket League."
On the same year, the first demonoid invasion since Megalo takes place in Amazon City. The Super, Amazo, makes his debut by stopping it. He is invited to the Super Society by Major Payne, whom he takes a liking to, and is given his own team to lead. He calls them Retribution. He immediately lets everyone know of his apprehension toward Canman. This starts a long, long chain of demonoid invasions.
2148 AD (2 years before present day): Mr. James Tagg, formerly known as Agent T of Alpha Force, is appointed as a supervisor for the Super Society after the government realizes Canman can't be completely relied on.
Tagg decides to do things on a low profile, so the public isn't made aware of his presence.
Most Super Society members are also unaware of his existence except teams like Retribution and Legion.
Tagg organizes Super ratings to help determine the power levels of Super Society members, grouping them into 3 categories,
Super
All Star
Elite
He realizes the kind of power Canman holds and is determined to find the strongest hero for the next generation, as he believes Canman's reign won't last forever.
Tagg organizes the Freelancer system, which allows Supers that aren't in teams to take more active roles in missions by joining other teams. Their members include Mage, Anymax, Swing, Bones, and Demonboy.
Tagg also organizes the Muman Training Academy, or Super Academy, to train new Supers from mumans and anomalies the government finds on a regular basis.
The mumans Forest Fire saved a year ago are enrolled there for training to be the next generation of Supers.
Tagg also establishes the Squad system, where graduates from the academy form their own teams and go on missions. Alpha Squad is the first, led by the former student of Hawk Knight, Nightingale. His team includes Scream and Wielder.
Max escapes Mr. E's confinement and finds refuge in the Lost Light cult. He is revealed to be a key component in their prophecy. He is given the mission of finding potential hosts for the remains of the Baron to possess as his initiation ritual. Captain Rocket hears of this from a spy of his and goes undercover to find the possible host before Max does.
A young criminal named Terrapin is recruited into the Super Society as a freelancer.
Dr. Hoo and Dr. Small, two scientists working on Super Island, create a portal to other realms, their first destination being the Underworld.
Megalo escapes the Underworld again to launch an attack on the Super Society, but he is quickly defeated by Canman since he lacked his full power.
Tagg catches one of the freelancers, Bones, feeding private information to the bounty hunting organization Hunt, and he is captured by the Super Society. However, when the Icons, joined by Terrapin, attempt to take him into custody, Hunt agents led by the mercenary Ravenger, save him.
2149 AD (A year ago): The twenty Supers who left the Super Society form the Vigilante League, a non government organization in Emerald City, Commonwealth.
In the same year, a mysterious spaceship crash lands in a forest near [redacted]. A team of Supers called the [redacted] is sent by Tagg to investigate. They are never heard from again.
Again, in the same year, a swordsman known as Emperor battles [redacted] in [redacted] and is defeated. He is then captured by the Super Society and taken to the Cage, Dr. White's state of the art muman prison.
Hummingbird and a group of other mumans graduate from the Super Academy and form the Gamma Squad, becoming the newest team in the Super Society.
More Supers and mumans make their appearances in the state of Stickville, which doesn't allow interference from the Super Society. Some of these are Gargoyle and the Symbol.
