"Machamp, use Bullet Punch to shatter the falling rocks above us!"
Seeing the massive rocks cascading down from overhead, Hook's expression changed drastically. Panic surged through him, and he immediately ordered the Machamp beside him to break apart the most dangerous boulders dropping toward them.
"Come out, Blastoise! Use Hydro Pump on Aggron!"
At the same time, he released a level-52 Blastoise and commanded it to seize this chance to attack the temporarily immobile level-58 Aggron.
In the next moment, white vapor puffed from Machamp's nose as the muscles on all four of his arms bulged. Countless fist shadows shot out like a flurry from his four hands, smashing every falling rock within a meter radius into fine rubble.
On the other side, Blastoise tanked the falling stones above his head as if they were nothing, then aimed the twin steel cannons on his back at the snarling, immobilized Aggron and launched two high-pressure water jets.
Aggron's physical defense was superb, but his special defense was only average. Facing a Water-type attack that struck for super-effective damage, he immediately let out a painful roar.
But he did not fall. Instead, the agony triggered his ferocity—angry bellows erupted from his mouth.
The moment the recoil from Hyper Beam subsided, Aggron grabbed a giant boulder nearby and raised it as a shield to block Blastoise's Hydro Pump, then—ignoring the debris still raining down—charged toward Hook like a raging beast, using Double-Edge.
"Blastoise, stop him!"
The rain of stones above still hadn't ended. When Hook saw Aggron barreling toward him with crazed determination, his face twisted in terror. He hurriedly ordered his Blastoise—who could also ignore the falling debris—to intercept Aggron.
However, in terms of sheer mass and force, even two Blastoise wouldn't necessarily match an Aggron. Blocking such a mad charge was incredibly difficult.
When the two Pokémon collided, Blastoise was immediately shoved backward several meters, deep grooves scraping across the ground beneath him.
Fortunately, with everything he had, Blastoise managed to withstand the full force of Aggron's brutal Double-Edge.
Even so, Blastoise suffered greatly.
His hard shell couldn't compare to Aggron's steel armor; cracks spread across the front of his shell, and fresh blood seeped from the fractures. His breathing grew weak and unstable.
At this moment, the tremors within the tunnel finally began to subside, and the relentless rain of rocks gradually ceased.
But now, the tunnel was nearly blocked by the debris. Hook had no way to escape Aggron's pursuit. Meanwhile, Machamp was panting heavily, clearly exhausted.
"You're courting death! Come out—Magmortar! Use Fire Blast!"
Aggron's relentless assault ignited Hook's fury. Murderous intent surged in his eyes. He released the strongest Pokémon he had—Magmortar—and immediately commanded it to launch a fierce attack on Aggron.
A level-65 Magmortar wreathed in flames appeared before Hook in the next instant.
The previously damp and chilly underground passage heated up instantly. The rocks beneath Magmortar's feet blackened from the rising temperature.
Then, a massive blue flame in the shape of the character "大" erupted from his mouth and struck Aggron squarely.
Aggron let out a heart-rending scream.
Under Magmortar's overwhelming flames, the steel-rock armor across Aggron's chest glowed red-hot and even began to show faint signs of melting. The stench of scorched flesh spread through the air.
"Blastoise, finish him with Hydro Pump!"
The Fire Blast had caused the temperature in the tunnel to spike rapidly. Hook was sweating profusely. Seeing that Magmortar had successfully knocked Aggron back, he immediately ordered Blastoise to finish Aggron—while also cooling the area.
In the next moment, two high-pressure water jets blasted from Blastoise's cannons and struck Aggron with precision.
Zzzhhhhh—!
The sharp hiss of superheated metal being rapidly cooled echoed through the tunnel, and clouds of white steam billowed outward. The temperature dropped swiftly.
Before long, the steam faded.
Aggron's battered, scorched body collapsed to the ground, losing all ability to battle.
"Hmph. What an annoying creature. Kill him. Machamp—use Dynamic Punch."
Even as Aggron lay unconscious, Hook's killing intent only intensified. He had almost died in Aggron's hands—combined with his earlier frustrations in the underground lake, he needed an outlet for his rage.
Machamp did not hesitate. Fighting-type energy surged into his fists, and he aimed a devastating punch at Aggron's skull.
But before his fist could land, several thorned vines erupted from the ground, instantly coiling around his legs.
Machamp lost his balance at once, crashing face-first into the stone-strewn ground.
Blastoise and Mightyena were likewise ensnared by the thorned vines, bound tightly the moment they reacted.
As the vines completed their binding, brilliant green light burst from them, and Machamp, Blastoise, and Mightyena all cried out in pain.
At the same time, a poisonous purple sheen spread across Machamp's and Mightyena's bodies—they had clearly been poisoned.
"Magmortar! Use Fire Punch to burn away the vines!"
This sudden ambush set off alarm bells in Hook's mind. He immediately dove behind Magmortar and ordered it to free their team.
But before Magmortar could act—
A thunderous crash shook the tunnel.
A powerful Nidoking smashed through the debris ahead with its fists, then launched a massive orb of water straight at Magmortar.
Seeing the water sphere flying toward him, Magmortar had no choice but to abandon his attempt to free the others. He hurriedly fired two blazing pillars of flame from his hands to intercept it.
In the next second, Nidoking's Water Pulse collided with Magmortar's Flamethrower, water and fire clashing violently. Steam erupted outward, quickly engulfing the entire tunnel in white mist.
