When Navi died, Nalan could only think of following her order to him. Even if their relationship had gotten better and so on, the rule of the order of the main family had to be implemented had long been ingrained in his bones.
It might be strange for others.
But for Nalan, it was basically a normal thing for him to listen to Navi's order and did whatever she told him to do.
He was even happy to do it.
That's why Nalan didn't think that there was anything wrong in the beginning when he finally made the decision to enter the passage.
