On the news, the Headquarters of NSF in Slyvor City was shown consumed in flames that reached the skies. It was chaos, and the firefighters were trying their best to fight the blaze.
However, the real devastation was a little away from it, where there was a big depression in the land with smoke rising from it, almost as if someone had used a tactical nuke underground.
The Underground Tunnels and Cells had been blown up, and the number of casualties, including some prisoners and mostly personnel, was in the hundreds.
A short while later, another news rocked the country.
Bai Yuan had disappeared from the custody of NSF in the Royal Capital.
Everything that was happening seemed to have come straight out of a nightmare, and it was a serious question on the country's security forces.
Mikael was just as shocked as everyone else in the lounge as they listened to the news.
Escaping from the hands of NSF was outrageous.
And though it was not shown or stated in the news, they all knew that it was the work of some Espers and some very strong and skilled Aurors.
Grisha felt dizzy. Edwin was blankly looking at the screen, and Alastair's face was pale.
Maria quickly contacted her older son and asked him to look into the details of the casualties.
Alexander Albonn was at the NSF Headquarters in Slyvor City, still under interrogation, and they feared that he was amongst the dead.
Alastair's phone suddenly rang, and seeing that it was a call from the NSF, his heart dropped.
"Hello?"
Everyone in the lounge watched his face turn even more pale, and the phone dropped from his hand.
"Father..." Stephen was scared, having never seen his father in such a state.
Mikael suddenly stood up and gently patted the boy's head.
"Come with me." He said to him and then looked at Stephen's cousins, Peter and Tobias, and his little cousin, Micah. "All of you."
Seeing what he was doing, Min Jin and Anaiah stood up as well and then led the kids upstairs to sit in the other lounge.
Sariah followed them and instructed Aunt Lu to prepare some juices and snacks.
"Alastair?" Edwin called out to his brother with a trembling voice after the kids went upstairs.
"Father is in the ICU at the Military Hospital..." The older Albonn informed his brother, and tears finally flowed out of his eyes. "The chances are low. We have been asked to go over there and be with him in his last moments."
The Albonns were devastated after his words.
"Go."
It was Maria who broke the silence, and both the Albonn Brothers stood up.
Edwin looked towards the stairs, but the Lady of the Zarayne Family shook her head.
"It is better if the kids do not see him in this state." She advised, and the man did not argue.
Grisha, Anne, and Stella followed their husbands, and Raeya and Klara stood up as well.
Seeing them leaving, Maria followed them out and went together with them to the Military Hospital.
She was quite unsettled when she saw that her sons had intensified their security. It was almost as if they were the targets of the enemy.
Suddenly, her phone rang, and seeing that it was her younger son, she quickly picked it up.
"Yes, Mikael?"
When the call ended, her brows were furrowed, and Raeya, who had a better grip on her emotions, asked her what her husband had told her.
"There is a battle going on at the Sterling Manor. Aaron Stone and some unknown people are trying to kill them..."
Everything that was happening was way too shocking for them, and their hearts were in their throats all the way to the Military District.
Only after they entered the District did they all relax a little, and once they arrived at the Hospital and saw the state that Old Albonn was in, Edwin was relieved that they had not brought the children here.
At 1:39 am, the Doctors declared Alexander Albonn dead.
His face was disfigured, and half of his body was scorched. The man was simply unrecognisable, and seeing his state, no matter how headstrong Alastair was, he swayed on his feet.
On the other side, back at the Villa, Mikael was pacing in the second lounge with his phone in his hand.
Only Ginny and Alison were with him, deadly quiet. The younger girl's body was trembling as she stared at the screen where the news was playing on mute.
Aunt Lu, Anaiah, Sariah, and Min Jin were making sure that the kids were not left alone to their thoughts.
Moments ago, he had received a call from his men that Aaron had successfully escaped from the Sterling Manor.
He had failed to kill his targets because there was an Old Man in the Spirit Manifestation Realm, who was also an Esper, and there were two Aurors at the peak of the 9th Profound Realm.
The Sterlings had clearly gone all out to ensure their safety.
Aaron and his team had failed to get past them and even suffered losses. Soon the NSF and Royal Armed Guardians arrived at the scene, which forced the Child of Destiny to flee, narrowly escaping the jaws of death.

He quickly took out the System Phone and started updating the Authorities about their location and that Bai Yuan had the Red File with him.
The Zarayne hoped that the old man would die tonight, and though he was not too confident about it, he at least hoped that both would suffer severe losses.
Seeing that Aaron was heading towards the Mystic Town through the Black Forest, he gritted his teeth.

Most importantly, it was a quiet car, but very fast thanks to being a hybrid with three powerful Electric Motors, two on the rear axle and one on the front.
"Archer, send two units to the Manor, and the rest of the reserved Units to the Villa." He instructed his guard on the phone and stopped the people from following him when he left the house.
Mikael's eyes turned cold as he drove into the night, and in his mind, he was keeping tabs on Aaron's location.
From time to time, he kept updating the Authorities on Bai Yuan's location, and also on Aaron's whereabouts.
He was hoping that if he failed to kill them, then the Authorities would help him kill those Supporting Characters...
