"You like it?" Li Na asked Xue Ling, and without hesitation, Xue Ling nodded, her eyes sparkling.
"If you can wield it, it's yours," Li Na said with a grin. Xue Ling's face lit up like an innocent kid.
She stood on her tiptoes, her long fingers soft hands gripping the golden, granite-like handle. But then—nothing. She tugged, but the saber didn't budge from the rack. Not even a little. Her face turned bright red as she tried to hide her embarrassment from me and Li Na.
My heart sank seeing her like that—her excitement crushed, her expectations shattered and made fun of her innocence.
And Li Na? She burst out laughing as if she knew all along.
I shot her a glare.
"What?" she said, trying to look innocent but failing miserably.
