The clown didn't drag me immediately into the swirling vortex. Of course not. He just had to savor the moment, looking proud at his little secret, like an artist showing off a painting he didn't make.
I almost rolled my eyes at the proud smirk on his face, and was tempted to wipe it off his face.
"How… the hell this one isn't detected by the UAO yet?"
I just had to ask, because aside from feeling tremendous relief after seeing the vortex, that was a nagging question in my head.
Like… just how? Weren't they supposed to have satellites or whatever advanced technology that detected a vortex's appearance within the whole country? Or was this place out of the country again?
Mammon's hand still locked around my wrist, he angled his head toward me.
"Hmm… it was detected by them, actually," he answered, like he didn't just drop a bomb on me.
My head spun toward him, eyes widening in disbelief. "That's impossible. If they knew about it, then they wouldn't let—"
