Hello, hope everyone is well.
I think I must write you guys this notice letter to explain why fewer and fewer chapters were posted along the year. Firstly, I have not given up on this story. Probably there has not been a single day this year I have not thought about how to progress it and expand the worlds I wished to explore. However, there was a problem. I was not completely satisfied by what I had written until this point. And the reasons for it are obvious to me now: Details and not much thinking. I posted the first chapter of this story as soon as I wrote it, and I was surprised by how good was the reception so I just posted chapter after chapter as soon as I wrote it. When I least noticed, things I see as problems surged in this story, and I couldn't find good ways to fix it. For example, I have the slightest impression John has not a clear background. And I am not talking about what he is or where he came from, but as an individual as a whole. I think he lacks a lot, and that bothers me immensely. Second, the lack of details and interactions when building up relationships. With Hope, I am quite satisfied with what I did, but I can't say the same for Josie, Lizzie, Alaric and others. I hate when I think how I skipped certain scenes and just mentioned them later. Like, writing them would solidify and help building everything so much, I can't help but regret.
And as this regret built up, I have lost most of my desire to write.
Surprisingly, as soon as I started rewriting this story recently, this desire returned as strong as ever. I can't help but try to find time to write more. Which most of the time since the beginning of the year I couldn't due to the next reasons.
This year has probably been the most difficult one of my life. College was harder than usual and having way more problems than all the past years combined, my professional life has also not been easy and worst of all, ever since the new year, a relative of mine has entered the last period of their life as their diseases progressed. And as this relative is very close to me, I can't help but force myself helping them in the situation they are right now. I help them in a daily basis, doing some chores that take time off writing so I can't focus here.
Well, I guess in the end of everything, despite saying all of this, I wanted to say something else: I am sorry for not being up to the promises I did of posting a chapter every week. And I am sorry to not being able to provide you with a story as fantastic as it should be.
Wow, this take some weight off the heart, hm?
I guess that's what I wanted to say for now. Will end this notice here and return to writing. Thanks for your attention. See you soon.
P.S.: I forgot to clarify a little about the rewriting part. I plan to stick to the important events which took place till now. Stick to the line of events and just changed minor to medium things, but alter the story as a whole as it progress. I hope you can understand what I mean.
