'You can park her down near the scrap yards. That's where you'll find Calliope too.'
"Ugh…" Leroy sighed as he sat his head down on the table in the galley. Kirk giving him a reassuring rub to his back as he sulked.
Lifting his chin to the table the Captain gave a pout. "I guess we should at least explore the city, we can take the Palm to Calliope tomorrow…"
"Hey! That could be fun! Oh! Leroy" Kirk suddenly perked up at a realization.
"Whaaat…."
Leaning in close to the captains face with a grin the Koi Fishman spoke "We can go get all of that gold and treasure appraised!"
"Oo!" The Captain Shot up "You're right!"
As the two chatted, Both Kále and Dezzi looked at one another. "Well that got his mood up"
Kále had decided to stay behind on the Palm to nap while the others went out for the day. Having taken the ship back down to the lower layer and docked it some ways away near the Scrapyard, having planned on sailing the rest of the way to where Winslow said Calliope would be
"Man…These streets are so spacious." Jeanne said walking next to the Chef whose hands rested on were tucked into his pockets as usual.. Next to them, in the Canals there were people in small boats, they looked like miniaturized paddle boats.
"We've gotta find one of those" Dezzi lifted a finger, pointing to the Canal.
"Yeah, I keep seeing them, they must be what's used for the smaller Canals and Waterways instead of getting around in full ships"
This was true. Many of the Waterways in Water 9 Server as secondary streets for people to get around. There were teh roads and side paths to take, but if you wanted to cut down or use an alternate way, you could take the waterways to get from place to place. While not mandatory by any means, it was helpful
"Woah woah woah! Wait, what about one of those!" Kirk exclaimed, Suddenly everyone's gaze pointed to a creature that was coming around a corner down the canal
It was like a horse drawn carriage, if the Carriage was seafaring and drawn by a horse that was a vibrant shade of blue and purple skin like a fish, it's front legs were fins and hooves that propelled them forward.
What happened next shocked the crew
Coming next to a ramp that sunk into the side of the canal, the driver pulled the Creature to the side, and it walked up the ramp! The large fins on its legs seemed to shrink when out of water, and a second pair of hind legs that were tucked up into its tail like a bird came out and began to trot across the street!
"No- We need one of those!" Leroy Declared
After asking around, the crew found themselves at a building that was built into the end of a canal, multiple of the horses moved in and out of the water way, making neighs and small noises as they shook their head
"Those?" Spoke the man behind a stall with an opening into the canal next to him. "Those were Paddle-Go's they're pretty popular nowadays. And people can own their own without worrying about feeding and grooming."
"They use Whale oil to propel the propeller in the back. And it uses a whipstaff to move around so it's pretty intuitive."
"Any way, these" He thumbed behind him "Are Channel Horses Some call them by other names, their 'Scientific name is 'Hippocamp Hippocamp Hippomajora" Or something."
The mustached man with swimming goggles waved that away "But that's what ever."
"Lookin to rent? For a party of six, it should be about 20,000 Berry."
"Well me an Kirk are gonna cash that in…" He thumbed behind where a cart they found in the Scrapyard.
"Well, we do have Cargo Carriages that could hold all of that! But to carry all of it you'd need about…"
"What are you hauling?" Asked the dealer.
"Gold." Leroy said plainly, only for Kirk to stare daggers into him
"Gold?!" The man exclaimed a little too loudly. "Yeah" The Captain responded plainly.
"I won't ask questions, but that'll probably take four Horses…"
"I'll probably go out on my own." Noir stated. "I saw some nice stores, and I wanna check them out. I've got the cash if I find anything that fancies me."
"Well! While you're out, don't forget to go and check out the Songkran celebration!"
"Theres A Celebration today!?" Leroy asked with wide eyes.
"Yep! This time every year over on the west side of Water 9, the Canals are cleared for Floats and Partying! Everyone wears a mask, make sure to bring your bathing suit cuz there'll be a splash zone!"
"There's also a contest for who can wear the best and most unique Bathing suit, and it's anonymous because of the mask!"
"Well- I guess I'll go and check that out!" Jeanne began "I'll accompany you."
"Me three!" Raven and Dezzi added.
"Alright, a trio Carriage, a solo carriage, and a duo carriage with a cargo attached. That should be…" He tapped into a typewriter like analog cash register before it clinked open with a 'Ka-Ching!'
"125,000 Berry." Kirks eyes widened at the number, but Raven merely chuckled as Leroy walked to the cart and sat down a solid gold brick. "99 Karat and like- 130 years old. Should cover it!"
The mans eyes, nearly or literally burst from the goggles on his eyes. "Pupupupu…Well I'll take it!"
"This is Brawn, Pullo and Samson. My Three strongest Stallions."
The Three Channel Horses were Violet, Teal, and A dark golden color. Large like warhorses with fin like manes that had spikes coming from the webbing.
"Aww hello Samson!" Leroy stroked the side of the Golden horse.
"Heh, I didn't even tell you whose who and you got it right! Let me help you load your stuff onto the Cargo bed and You'll be on your way!"
The others sat in their Carriages behind their Horses waiting as all the Gold from as far back as Shells Town was put onto the Bed.
"Ohhhkay! You're all set! To tell them where to go, just pull the reins in that direction, pull back for them to stop, and flick your wrist to tell them to pick up speed."
"Alright. Should be simple enough." Jeanne said with Dezzi next to her.
"And Make sure the horses are back by 8pm! Any horse not brought back will have a overdraft of 1,000 berry for every day not brought back."
"But I guess…You that gold covers it…Just make sure they come back!"
"Got it!" Leroy said
"Lets meet back here at 8pm anyway! Then we'll go to see what Kále's up to!"
"Right!" The Crew confirmed.
With a flick of their wrist, the Crew was off!
