Chapter 375 - Pieces Slotting Together

Day 4

Shouts came from the Deck Yard, the skeleton was beginning to come along well. A clear vision of multiple floors, and at this point, at least 3 separate ones below the deck. Workers descended from cables and Scaffolding, hammering in large nails through the beams, the out side was to have the iron wood paneling while the inside

"Cali! That kitchen stuff's here ahead of schedule!" Winslow said with a yawn, looking over the shipping manifest "Really?" The Dark pink haired woman asked, wiping her brow with the back of her wrist.

"Yeah, I've made some pretty express orders to some of the surrounding Islands. Even had some of the boys from the docks embark out on the fastest ships we got for it." Winslow scratched at his temple with the back of the pencil

"This is some crazy expensive stuff here, and not very Common. I had to go and dig through shipping Catalogs from Catos over at the East side-" He raised his brow quickly for emphasis

"But everything they wanted was able to be gotten. And knowing those islands, This is again- Probably the most advanced ship we've built in the past few decades. And then theres all the plans you have for it on top of that."

He rested his hands on his hips, leaning on a leg "Theres no other place in the world bar that Island where Dr. Tehertz spends all of his time alone to build a ship like this"

"Aint that right boys!" Winslow gave a rally call, the Shipwrights raising their tools for a moment and cheering along with one another

"Heh- Alright, lets get back to work. Aye! Harold, bring those-" Winslows voice began to trail off as he walked away. Calliope shifting to her rear and leaning on her hands to look at the progress with a satisfied smile.

The ship was going to be over a hundred feet tall at its peak. Over a dozen different utilities and rooms. All with the top of the line modern amenities.

A far cry from the year and some months that the Crew had spent on a rugged ship like the Palm.

"Leroy!" Kirk screamed across the building, the captains laughter echoing through the halls as a door slammed "Get your ass back to bed!" He said with sass laced across his voice as Jeanne came up behind the fishman and put a hand on his shoulder

"I've got this…" She smirked as her body began dissolve into steam, and leak through the bottom of the door frame

On the other side of the Door Leroy snickered to himself at the locked door, only for the steam to catch his eyes, causing them to widen! "Ah!" Leroy screamed, scrambling backwards with a smile on his face, raising his hands to defend himself as Jeanne reformed

"You're getting back in bed rather you like it or not ya bastard!" Jeanne said with wild eyes, smile across her face as she approached the Captain, sounds of the struggle reverberating

"Hahaha!" Raven let out a loud laugh as she sat on the couch, leaning forward into her bent wrist to cover her mouth. Dezzi's head snapped around at the sound

"Well you seem like you're in a much better mood Raven." Dezzi said with a curled lip smile, checking over the bandages on her fingers. "I haven't ever heard you laugh before!"

The comment made the woman silently blush before closing her eyes in a smile of her own "I guess I just feel so much more like myself is all." She spoke in that same tone that the crew knew.

She held out her hand and let Dezzi look them over, eyes shifting to Leroy who was currently being wrestled with out of the Room by both Kirk and Jeanne together

She really did feel so much more comfortable. Even more than the first days after the Citadel. It was like day by day the rest of the overcast from the rain that had been pouring and covering her so much was beginning to fully fade away

She didn't have to be so reserved anymore, didn't need to hide away behind an emotionless veneer. She was just- Raven. Her own woman, and no one else.

Day 5

"Good Good!" Calliope said, hands gesturing through the air like a conductor, controlling large pieces of metal to move into place along the frame, serving as a secondary suit of armor. But also large railings and pieces that slid into one another like butter to allow sections to slid into place

The floors were beginning to be formed, the workers now hidden behind the fresh paneling along the outside shell.

Others unloaded the new pieces of equipment, large cannons double the size of the ones from the Palm, newer cannons that primarily fired shells instead of round lead shot. Though there were still plenty. It would allow the ship to fire at least 12 shots at once!

But that was just the Standard ammunition. Calliope however, had many more custom made guns for the Ship to utilize far more potent forms of fire power…

"I'd reckon it'll take maybe another 5 days to fully build in full. Its got a lot goin on. And the inside isn't even done. Just look at these prints…" Winslow said with another scratch. The blueprints weren't just a single scroll, but an entire pamphlet of levels and room designs.

"Well we ain't done yet, Win. This ain't just a ship. It's gonna be my new home. Their new home. And I need to make sure it's perfect and won't ever end up the same fate as their last one." Cali said with a determined look, finally resting her hands as the loud metal clanged together like a perfect puzzle piece.
