Chapter 86 - 82- I was curious to know the temperature of your heart

Hey everyone,

I've just started posting my original webnovel on Webnovel.

The story follows a guy in a medieval world who gets a system that lets him summon heroes and legends from history — Arthur, Jeanne d'Arc, Leonidas, and many others. It's an empire-building isekai with a heavy focus on strategy, leadership, and the weight of commanding legends.

The first 8 chapters are already live. If you want to read ahead, I've made up to 5 chapters available for free on my Patreon.

If you check it out and read a bit, I'd really appreciate your honest thoughts. Feedback helps a lot, especially in these early chapters.

Uraume tried to counter with a freezing swipe, attempting to lock the air around her opponent. But the moment the icy mist spread—

She was gone.

A sudden gust whipped across her face.

Uraume barely had time to look up before the figure came crashing down on her from above, carried by an invisible gale.

Boom!

A violent shockwave erupted on impact.

Uraume leapt back, sliding to a halt across an improvised sheet of ice. But the woman gave her no chance to breathe.

The wind howled.

Blades of air tore toward her at blistering speed.

Uraume conjured a wall of ice with a sharp gesture—

Shrrrk!

The barrier cracked instantly, sliced apart like paper by the aerial strikes.

The gusts grazed her, leaving shallow cuts along her arms.

Uraume gritted her teeth and drew a deep breath.

The ground beneath her iced over…

Then vanished.

An invisible trap.

When the woman charged again, her foot struck the surface without traction.

She slipped.

Uraume didn't waste a second.

She appeared behind her in a frozen blur, slamming her palm against the back of her opponent's neck.

A violent blizzard burst at the point of contact, a wave of lethal frost spreading in a flash.

But instead of being blasted back—

The woman spun midair, harnessing the gale to recover.

Then—

BOOM!

A vortex of wind detonated around Uraume, hurling her back.

She dug her feet into the ground to keep from being launched too far, but the gust was razor-sharp, nearly cutting.

She lifted her head.

The woman had straightened, her black coat billowing around her.

She smiled—the first smile since the fight began.

"I shouldn't linger."

She crossed her arms.

Then murmured, "My master is almost done."

Uraume clenched her fists.

She exhaled slowly, a thin cloud of vapor slipping past her lips.

The storm of frost surrounding her eased for a moment, coiling tightly around her body.

Then—

BOOM!

A whirlwind erupted around the woman. Her coat snapped violently in the gale.

She vanished.

Uraume anticipated it, instantly leaning back.

A kick slashed through the air with terrifying force.

She had guessed right.

But the attack wasn't over.

A second strike followed immediately, just as precise. Then a third. A fourth.

Uraume had no choice but to block.

Her forearms absorbed the impacts.

She staggered back one step, then another.

The woman pressed on. A knee strike. A hook. A feint, then a spinning aerial strike.

She was fast. Too fast.

Uraume dug her foot into the ice and halted her retreat.

With a fluid motion, she conjured a wall of ice before her. A heartbeat later, the woman shattered it with a single backhand, a gust tearing through the crystalline shield like paper.

But Uraume hadn't waited for the impact.

She was already behind her.

Her palm struck her opponent's shoulder. A freezing wave surged out in a flash, trying to lock her in place.

The woman reacted instantly.

Instead of resisting the ice, she used the wind to amplify her own momentum. Her body twisted in a fluid spin, and in the same motion, she drove an elbow toward Uraume's temple.

The impact was brutal.

Uraume staggered, a metallic taste filling her mouth.

Her opponent didn't relent.

A sweeping strike followed.

Uraume sprang back, instinctively gliding across the thin layer of ice beneath her feet. Her body balanced naturally, finding purchase where her opponent could not.

She raised a hand.

CRACK.

A frost wave burst underfoot, coating the entire field in invisible ice.

The air grew colder.

The woman stepped instinctively—

And slipped.

Her balance broke for a fraction of a second.

Uraume struck instantly.

In a flash, she appeared behind her, slamming her palm violently against the back of her neck.

An explosive blizzard roared at the impact.

The air crackled with frozen power.

But—

She didn't fall.

Midair, the woman twisted in an impossible motion.

She bent the air around her, reversing her fall.

A swirling gale righted her instantly, and before Uraume could press the attack—

BOOOOM!

A vortex of wind imploded between them, blasting her away.

Uraume skidded to a halt with practiced precision, anchoring herself to the frozen ground.

She looked up.

The woman stood tall, calm, her smile thin, almost amused.

"You're tougher than I thought."

Uraume didn't answer.

The frost around her thickened.

Her gaze darkened.

"Let's try another way."

With a single motion, she transformed the battlefield.

A world of pure ice.

The woman glanced down.

Her feet…

Found no grip.

Uraume didn't wait.

She flashed behind her.

Her fist struck.

The impact shook the earth.

A devastating blizzard exploded over the woman.

But—

She smiled.

"Too late."

A scream of wind engulfed her.

BOOOOOM!

A titanic blast ripped the air apart.

The ice shattered, exploding into a storm of jagged shards.

The shockwave hurled Uraume back.

She tumbled across the ground before planting her feet firmly to stop her slide.

She rose slowly, wiping the blood dripping from her brow with the back of her hand.

Her eyes locked on the woman.

Still standing.

Still unscathed.

She rested a hand on her hip, tilting her head slightly.

"I think that's all you've got, isn't it?"

Her smile faded slightly.

Her eyes sharpened.

"But it's time to end this."

The two locked eyes.

Then, in perfect unison—

They attacked.

Uraume leapt, a wave of frost erupting beneath her. Her palm wrapped in a razor blizzard as she lunged for her opponent.

But—

BOOM!

A devastating blow stole her breath.

Her body folded under the strike. A fist had sunk deep into her abdomen, the shockwave rattling her insides.

Her eyes went wide. She tried to react, but pain froze her for a fraction of a second. A fraction too long.

BAM!

A knee smashed into her chin.

Her head snapped back, blood spraying from her lips.

And before she even hit the ground—

WHOOSH!

A furious gale tore her from her trajectory.

She felt herself flung at dizzying speed.

Her back slammed into the wreck of an overturned car.

CRACK!

The metal buckled, the sound hideous in the frozen air.

Agony exploded down her spine.

She hit the ground with a heavy thud, her body trembling.

But the woman gave her no reprieve.

A black silhouette filled her vision.

Then—

SHLACK!

Agonizing pain tore through her stomach.

Uraume slowly lowered her gaze.

A blood-soaked hand was buried to the wrist in her abdomen.

Her own blood dripped down her enemy's pale skin.

The woman smiled at her.

"I was curious to know the temperature of your heart."
