The reflection nodded once, as if accepting his words.

Rhys charged first.

This time, he didn't rush blindly.

He kept his stance steady, feet grounded, eyes watching every small movement of the reflection's body.

The reflection swung its sword down at him.

Rhys blocked, pushed it aside, and countered with a clean strike at the copy's arm.

CLANG!

The copy blocked, but it was slower—just a bit.

Rhys noticed.

He pressed forward.

Slash.

Block.

Parry.

Step back.

Step in again.

The fight turned from desperate to controlled. Rhys didn't waste energy. He didn't hesitate. He didn't overthink.

He simply fought.

The reflection spoke again between clashes.

"Better. You're starting to trust yourself."

Rhys didn't answer. He focused on the rhythm of the battle.

The copy tried Swift Cut—

Rhys countered by shifting sideways and striking the copy's ribs.

The copy tried Vertical Slash—

Rhys ducked under it and hit its leg.

He was matching his own techniques.
