Izuku, after the police sorted everything out and left with arrested the criminals, finally let himself freak out about what happened, fussing over his mother the same way she has done for him all his life, tears leaking freely.
He ran around the house, making for her her favorite tea, turning the tv to her favorite soap opera and so on for multiple hours, all the while asking again and again if she was okay.
Inko, at first thought it was endearing, seeing her son worrying about her but eventually it started getting overbearing to the point that she had to kick him out of the house so he could get some fresh air, talk to his friends and calm down. Meanwhile she called Mitsuki to talk about what happened.
She even complained to Mitsuki about how Izuku had been treating her after the fact only to get laughed at by the bombastic blonde and mentioning how the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

Walking on the relatively cleaner parts of Dagobah beach, Izuku remembers the scene hat happened just a few hours ago, the moment when he froze. In any other scenario its basically law that his body moves before his mind can fully comprehend what is happening, biggest example being him rushing into that alley and confronted Rappa without a plan.
But this time, this time when every moment counted, when every second wasted was a danger to his mother's life…
He froze.
If not for Sensei urging him to move, he doesn't know what would have happened.
'Don't be too hard on yourself kid. What you experience there was nothing to be ashamed of. When outside you've sadly been conditioned to always be aware of danger, and to move when needed but at home… that's your safe space, seeing your mother in danger in your own home was contradictory to your whole worldview. You'd need a special type of hardheadedness to not be affected by such a thing even for a single moment like you were.'
'But sensei! What if I hadn't moved even after your call!? What if I was too slow?! What if-'
'No more what ifs, you acted when urged, that is all. If you didn't like how that went then instead of feeling sorry for yourself, work towards not the same mistake twice. Instead of worrying about the past and letting it cage in worrying about infinite possibilities and consequences that could come from it, you just take a step forward and grow from your past experiences'
'I- I understand Sensei, I'm sorry for doubting myself.'
'Good, now do you remember how you took down the home intruder?'
'How I took them down? Oh right, I'd totally forgotten, you told me to rapidly kick the ground behind me and suddenly I was crashing into the intruder's back!'
'Yes, that! That was a very basic movement technique-' 'so that's what movement techniques are like! Amazing!!' '- let me finish,' 'sorry sensei!' 'as I was saying, what I guided you to use in that moment was a very basic movement technique, with quite crude footwork, if you consider kicking the ground fast as footwork. Now, if you don't wish to make the same mistake and never end up in a position where you weren't fast enough, then I will teach you some other basic movement techniques of different types.'
'Yes! I cant wait! I'm ready for anything sensei!' with that promise Izuku's mind was fully distracted from earlier events. The two went deeper into the beach and started work on their newest exercises.

The hag had been nagging him for the past hour, apparently someone broke into auntie's apartment and Deku had been freaking out about it ever since, auntie Inko asked the hag to get me to talk to him as if I was that loser's friend, pathetic Deku had his home broken into and after auntie was put in danger, all he does is continue to bother her? What else would that Deku be able to do, all he knows is to run away like a coward and sucker punch you in the nose when you least expect it.
For the past month the nerd has been hiding from him, running away the instant classes ended and had the gall to smack him anytime he caught Katsuki unaware, but Katsuki Bakugo is a fucking genius and future NUMBER ONE PRO HERO IN THE WORLD! He caught on quick and managed to explode him a few times when Deku attempted to ambush him, but today Katsuki was extra motivated.
The nerd had the balls to bother aunty after a traumatic event?!
THAT USELESS FUCK HAS NO RIGHT TO CLAIM THAT HE WANTED TO BE A HERO AFTER ALL THAT!
Deku had been making more mistakes recently than ever before, he lacked the wisdom and needed reminding of his place.
Katsuki was gonna teach that Deku a lesson.
Using all his stealth skills he followed the nerd from afar, and now here he is at this dump of a beach, watching the nerd waddle around like he doesn't know how to use his legs, he hasn't been here long and didn't wish to stay here any longer but as he was about to stand and confront the nerd, Deku suddenly disappeared and reappeared head buried in sand a few steps away, almost like he teleported.
No, he didn't teleport, he moved and he moved fast, fast enough that he only caught a brief blur, the only evidence was a cloud of sand kicked up in his path, Deku stumbled out of the sand pile he was buried in and fell right after but he got back up and started shuffling his feet about once more.
Seeing this Katsuki sat back down and watched what the nerd was trying to do, once again he disappeared and reappeared elsewhere, but this time Katsuki saw Deku blur, he wasn't sure if it was because he was moving slower than before or Katsuki was ready for it this time, but he saw it as clear as day.
This continued for a while, at first Katsuki was angry thinking the loser had a quirk all this time and kept it a secret to make fun of him but something in his gut told him that there was no quirk involved in what he was seeing.
His eyes kept going back to Deku's footwork and the trail he left behind after each disappearance, which was getting smaller and less messy with each try.
For some reason he felt there was some logic at play that he was missing, something there that made all this make sense, by the time he came to that conclusion the nerd was already getting farther and farther into the dump.
Almost in a trance Katsuki followed behind, his gaze never leaving Deku's footwork, which ended up being his downfall as he accidently stumbled and sent a trash pile tumbling down, which worked to knock him out of the trance and attract Deku's attention.

'That is why mastering your senses first is a must, the battlefield changes each moment, in the blink of an eye new obstacles and opportunities appear and old ones hide, if you stay blind to these changes it is the same as admitting defeat.' As Tenno was guiding Izuku through the next set of footwork and explaining the purpose of mastering his senses before delving into more advanced movement techniques they heard a crash.
Izuku looked over and realized that it was Katsuki that caused the mess, they'd known that he was following them all this time, but didn't feel like bothering with him, as he was about to turn back and continue his training,
"DEKU!" Katsuki called out "So this is where you've been running off to all this time, huh?"
Izuku, had long since gotten over his obsession with Katsuki, he was still considered as a challenging obstacle but Izuku stopped caring what the explosive blond had to say about him. Ignoring Katsuki, Izuku turned back and decided to go deeper into the beach and away from his emotionally and physically unstable classmate.
"Hey! Where the fuck do you think you are going? You think you can just walk away?!" Katsuki yelled, following behind Izuku.
"What do you want Katsuki? I'm kinda busy at the moment as you can see."
Katsuki snorted at the claim.
"Sure looks like it, you are busy at the dump being trash."
Katsuki looked around at the surroundings, turning back to Izuku with a sneer.
"You know, no wonder you've been spending all this time here, it suits you. Useless trash like you belongs in a dump like this."
'Same old Katsuki, when is he gonna figure out that those types of childish insults don't work anymore' Izuku couldn't help but sigh, continuing to walk away from Katsuki, "Now if only you stayed here permanently so you wouldn't bother aunty with your pathetic attempts at heroics!" only to stop dead at that comment.
"Oh what is it? Touched a nerve? What is it huh? Widdle Deku thought his childish flailing and whining would get him into UA? That it would make aunty proud?" Katsuki continued, approaching the frozen Izuku step by step.
"She was in danger not even a few hours ago and you are here playing around in the sand, playing pretend."
Izuku turned around. By now the two were mere a meter apart from each other.
"Come on Deku, say something. Or are you too scared to do even that." Izuku only stared with a blank face at Katsuki. The comments about him being trash were one thing, childish. But for Katsuki to talk about his mother being in danger and all the events that followed, it struck a nerve, bringing the emotions buried during training back to the surface.
"What's wrong Deku? Do something, or are you just going to stare like a dead fish? Come on Deku!" with that last comment Katsuki crossed the distance between them and gave Izuku an explosive push, knocking him back but he stayed standing, his footing stable.
"Are you going to cry Deku? You had plenty of comebacks at school but a few words blew out your whole foundation? How pathetic can you be Deku?" Katsuki once again approached, sparks dancing across his palms, but a single sentence from Izuku caused him to pause.
"That is not my name." The declaration brought an ugly grin to Katsuki's face.
"Hah, very funny Deku, but we both know that that's all you'll ever be, a-"
"Pathetic"
"Little"
"Deku!"
Each word accompanied by a step forward and a crack of explosions in the blond's hands.
'Sensei please let me do this alone.' Izuku asked as he prepared for Katsuki to advance.
'Of course, I wouldn't have it any other way. But know this, Wisdom comes through suffering, dispense some wisdom on this boy for me Izuku.'
'You got it sensei!' Izuku couldn't help but grin as Katsuki charged at him.

AN: oof managed to make it in April (literally got less than 2 hours before May), truth be told the biggest hurdle was the dialogue, if I'd skipped it all together I could've just written the fight but I thought it would be pretty stupid to skip such a dialogue. The first mother son scene is a bit meh in my opinion but it's the best I could do. Anyway next chapter is gonna be ass kicking time.
