"Your mission ended before afternoon. How is it that you are returning now?" her father asked.
"Sorry, sir. We encountered a few challenges on the way," she responded.
"Tell me. Where is the proof that Demir is selling my lands?" he asked, completely ignoring the fact that she had just mentioned they encountered some challenges. He didn't care.
Was it bothering her? Maybe a little.
Maybe it was the pregnancy, but she could feel her emotions rising more than usual. That was dangerous. She never showed emotions, and if she suddenly started acting differently, she feared they would find out.
