"What do we do now?" Markus asked, running a hand through his hair, eyes darting to Ahmet. "Do we just… let him go?"
Ahmet leaned back against the edge of the desk, arms crossed. His jaw was tight, and his lips pressed into a thin line. "I don't know," he admitted, his voice low. "He knows about Asli and me. If he runs back to his uncle… Asli won't be safe. Not one bit."
Markus's brow furrowed. "I still don't trust him. He knew she was pregnant. I can't prove it, but I know he knew."
Ahmet shook his head slowly, exhaling through his nose. "We're still investigating. And I promised myself, whoever is responsible, I'll make them pay. Even if it's my own father."
Markus leaned forward, impatience edging his voice. "You really think your father's involved?"
