Chapter 31 - Into the Azure Forest

Linfei stood proudly in the center of the colossal Azure Mist Arena, surrounded by a bustling sea of cultivators. Spectators packed the ornate stands, their excited chatter echoing across the grounds. Flags of countless sects, pavilions, and clans fluttered in the wind, representing millions who had journeyed here just for this day.

On a raised dais, the dignitaries and strongest elders of the Azure Mist Pavilion arrived, their presence commanding instant respect. Cloaked in deep blue robes, faces weathered with experience, their cultivations radiated an overwhelming pressure. Referees dressed in white began to organize the participants, their movements precise and authoritative.

Linfei exhaled calmly as the chief referee stepped onto the stage, his voice booming across the arena:

"Welcome to the Azure Mist Tournament! The first round will test not only strength but cunning and courage. All one million registered cultivators will enter the Azure Forest. Within, you must hunt monsters—beasts.. Your score will be based on both the monsters you defeat and those snatched from others. The top 100,000 will advance."

A stunned murmur swept the crowd—competition would be fierce, the challenges deadly.

He continued, "Remember: survival, teamwork, and ambition are key. Only the bold will enter the second round. Prepare yourselves!"

Energy surged through the arena as contestants readied their weapons, packed instruments, and ingested last-minute pills. Shops at the edges of the grounds did a roaring trade, selling instruments, talismans, and elixirs. Restaurants were packed with families and supporters congratulating their favourites. The spectacle was immense—this was the event everyone had waited for all year.

Linfei moved through the crowds, eyes alert to rivals and allies alike. The forest gate loomed ahead: a barrier shimmering with spirit patterns, ready to open at the referee's signal. The challenge sent adrenaline racing through his veins.

As the signal sounded, hundreds of thousands surged forward. Linfei took his first step, the silver ring on his finger pulsing with anticipation.

The Azure Forest enfolded him—a wild land of towering trees, shadows, and lurking beasts. All around, opponents dashed into the thickets, their movements swift and determined. The hunt had begun.

Linfei was ready. This was not just a test of physical might but of strategy and will. Whether facing monsters or human adversaries, he vowed to show the strength he had cultivated, the spirit of his family, and the promise of his own destiny.

The tournament's heart beat—danger and opportunity entwined—and Linfei stepped boldly into the unknown.
