Hello there!
It's Nooburai, author of The Synner, Weavings of Fate (or TSWOF if you're too lazy to type all of that out).
First and foremost, I would like to thank all of you who have made it to this point, as this LN was a pretty weird tale, which I will summarize here:
Back in 2015, I started writing a FanFic for The Witcher. The story was going well, and it was initially meant to be before the schools went to shit. However, as the story progressed, I realized that I could probably get away with my own thing, as the characters I had were very similar to the ones you see today.
That said, it took me the better part of a year to fully build out the world, magic/power scaling systems, lore that changes the world of The Synner, among other such things. I also waited six years (five of which I spent in the military) for myself to mature a little more before returning to work on the third draft of the book, along with extensive edits to the story. (Some of which will be adjusted, but Subscribers will be notified of those changes when I re-publish those chapters).
Side note, I do wish I could draw, but my art sucks, and I don't know how to draw bodies, let alone action scenes even if I have them all visualized in my head. For that, I'm sorry, but I don't suspect I'll be the one drawing a webtoon for it anytime soon.
Regardless of that saddening fact, I would like to post some concept art for some of the characters eventually, once I've taught myself to draw a little better. Hopefully it will match the visuals you all have in your heads (note that aside from initial descriptions, I left most of the characters' descriptions fairly vauge and/or not addressed again).
As for the actual content of the rest of the seasons (currently 6 are planned, though how many chapters each one will be is still TBD), I already know how Thoma's story ends. I've known it since the very early days. However, I'm not looking for fame or glory with this at all. I just want to tell the story that I've been wanting to for a long time. If it does pick up some steam, them so be it, but that's not why I'm writing all of this.
My original goal was to be able to say that I completed something as big as writing a book. Nowadays, however, I want to be able to say that I inspired at least ONE person to write their own book/story, then my work here is done.
At the end of every season, I'll conclude with these Author's Notes, and possibly even schedule a Q&A session on Discord eventually. I would love to get to know you all who have made it this far a little better, and maybe - juuuust maybe - you'll get to learn a bit about me, too!
By the way...
I'm posting these once a day so that I can catch up to what's already released on other platforms. I would release them all at once, but I'd like to build the audience as much as possible. Once I'm caught up to what's already out, it will come out weekly.
It helps me to break these up a bit and allows me more time to write the next season without any delay between them.
YAY.
As a result of the style change, I've also allowed for a bit more depth and world-building to occur to support the story better, so expect some pretty profound revelations. Also, if it looks like I "forgot" about a character or two, no, I didn't. There's a reason I didn't address certain things or characters after certain points in the book, but you'll find out eventually.
If you have any questions, and you see me in there, feel free to come in and chat! I'd love to meet anyone who's read even a single episode, and I would be honored to meet you all.
As it currently stands, there are plenty of new characters, perspectives, and other elements coming in Season 2/Volume 2, and I really hope you like where I'm taking the story. While it may be a little on the slow-burn side for certain things, that's because I felt that there were a few topics I needed to add increased depth to, making the characters involved feel more "alive."
I don't want to spoil too much, as it will be coming out right after this. However, I hope you've enjoyed Season 1/Volume 1, and I look forward to seeing you all in Season 2/Volume 2.
PS: I may or may not also have my own discord, but I'm still debating whether I want to push that out to the public at this time... Maybe we could do a live reading of some of the chapters on Twitch or something... who knows? ;)
I hope you enjoyed Season 1, and I look forward to hearing your feedback when Season 2 kicks off!!!!
