Sleery still had not figured out the situation when she saw Chen Ke running downstairs without looking back.
She dared not shout and could only follow him. As they reached the staircase, Sleery sensed something amiss too.
The gentle night breeze had paused for a moment and then started to blow softly again. On the distant sea surface, the moon's reflection was torn into pieces by the black waves.
Chen Ke stood at the door, looked back at her, and made a shushing gesture before gently pushing the door open.
Inside the hallway, the white-robed guards patrolled as if nothing had happened, as if they had never been killed.
"Resurrected..." Sleery was startled and quickly used Magic Power to disguise them both again.

He looked up at the sky where the clouds were being blown southward by the sea breeze. The reason he had sensed something wrong was because the mark on his chest had suddenly begun to rotate counterclockwise.
