Later that day, Jax came with the witch, it seemed like he had been successful.
Rina studied the witch, he didn't look as she had envisaged.
She had imagined a tall, broad figure, instead Evena the witch looked frail like a little breeze would push him over.
"Thanks for agreeing to my request Sir, please help us and we will give you whatever you want."
Evena smiled maniacally.
"What if I want your first born child?"
Rina's heart skipped a beat. Was he a psychopath? She thought.
Evena suddenly burst into laughter.
"I am just kidding and enough with the sir thing. Just Evena is okay"
They collectively sighed in relief.
"So how may I be of help?" he asked.
Rafaele explained the issue to him.
"It's quite simple to find her, since they are identical, they share a bond. I just have to tap that bond and trace her"
"Thank you a lot" Rafaele said gratefully, the others also echoed their thanks.
"Wait a minute! How identical are you two?" Evena asked.
"Very identical, they have the same appearance, same scent, same walking step, same gestures. They even share the same wolf" Rina's mom told him.
"Hmmm, did you two ever switch places when you were young?" Evena asked.
Rina was filled with terror. Had the witch discovered their deception?
"That was a long time ago when they were children and we always knew" her father replied.
'No father you only knew if we wanted you to' Rina thought to herself.
"Oh I was just being curious. Okay, let's start, I will need the following" he rattled off a list of things he needed.
Rafaele sent Rain to get them.
Rain came back swiftly with the items. This was the fastest she had ever seen him gone on an errand.
Guilt gnawed at her, they were all being so helpful and she was hiding a big secret from them.
Evena prepared the items and beckoned her to come close.
Rina gulped and walked close to him, she sat down in front of him.
"Give me your hand" he told her.
She gave him her hand, he dipped his finger in the potion he had made and traced the line of her palm with it.
"What is your name?" he asked.
Rina kept quiet.
"What is your name?" he asked again.
Rina still kept quiet.
"darling, don't be afraid just tell him your name" her mother chimed in.
"Rita". She replied.
"and who do you want to find?" Evena continued.
"Rina" she answered.
Evena kept tracing her finger and he closed his eyes.
After some minutes, he opened them again.
"Something is wrong" he announced.
"What is wrong? Is anything wrong with my daughter?" he asked.
"I can't connect to her and I should be able to do so. Okay, let's try again, this time answer me in your mind." he told her.
"Okay" Rina nodded.
"who are you?" he asked.
Rina closed her eyes, "I am Rina" she screamed inwardly with all her might.
"and who do you want to find?"
"Rita" she answered.
Rina opened her eyes to see him looking at her, an eyebrow arched.
She gave him a pleading expression to keep quiet.
He shook his head and closed his eyes. He began to trace the lines on her palm once again.
After some minutes, he opened his eyes.
"I have a connection, let's go" he told everyone.
Everyone sighed in relief.
"Is it far? So we know what to prepare?" Rafaele asked.
Evena chuckled. "I don't travel the same way you do."
"How do you travel then?" Rain asked.
"witches use teleportation. As long as he wills it, he can be anywhere he wishes" Rina answered him.
They all looked at him in surprise.
"How do you know that?" Rafaele asked.
Oh no! Rina's job as a researcher meant she knew a lot of facts about supernatural beings others might not know.
Subconsciously she had blurted it out, Rita on the other hand had never cared about such things. So it was suspicious she knew this.
They were all looking at her expectantly, waiting for an answer.
"Rina mentioned it to me some time ago" she replied, a mournful expression on her face to stop them from further questioning.
It worked, nobody questioned her further.
"So I can only bring four people with me, she has to come with me for the connection, who else will join us?" Evena asked.
"I will come" Rina's father spoke up.
"me too" her mother quickly added.
"No dear, you need to stay here and rest" Rina's father objected.
"But..." she tried to protest.
"please, I can't worry about the girls and you too" he pleaded.
"Okay, I will stay here" she replied reluctantly.
"I and Jax will come too" Rafaele offered.
"Thank you son" Rafaele replied.
"Okay, are we ready to go?" Evena asked.
Rina stood up and then she felt a piercing pain which made her collapse to the floor.
"Rita, are you okay?" Rafaele asked worriedly as he helped her sit up.
Rina couldn't reply, the pain was much.
Evena crouched down next to her and examined her palm.
He looked up, his face looked grave.
"What is it?" Evena asked.
"We need to go there as soon as possible" he replied.
Rafaele helped Rina stand up.
"everybody hold hands, no matter what don't let go" he instructed.
They did as he said. Rina felt the air speeding by and a feeling of being displaced. The next thing she knew, they were in a forest.
"Where is this?" Jax asked as he looked around.
"This is the Raven pathway, it leads to the ruins of the ancient lycan city" Evena revealed.
"What brought Rina here?" Rafaele asked.
"You said she is a researcher for the royal werewolf library, she probably came here for research purposes" Evena replied.
Rina felt the pain once again, she screamed.
"Let's go." Evena told them.
They followed him as he walked following the connection.
