His smile widened as he said, "But there's one condition…" He lifted the vials higher. "I want Charlotte to come with me. In exchange."
"You bastard!" Damon shouted as loudly as he could. He tried to move, but the poison had already made his body stiff.
Even so, he forced himself to push forward, ignoring the awful sound of his bones cracking. But the poison was stronger than he thought. When the ship tilted again, both he and Mona collapsed onto the floor.
"Oh, don't be so dramatic." Julian rolled his eyes and walked toward them. "Besides, this isn't the first time I've stolen your mate."
He moved quickly to Charlotte and grabbed her arm so tightly that she could feel her bone starting to crack. She hissed in pain and glared at him sharply.
"Oh, scary." Julian grinned from ear to ear. "After seeing you keep rebelling, I'm starting to develop feelings for women who like to rebel, like you."
