"Shisui has an older sister?" Naruto asked with surprise, filling his voice.
"Yeah. Miyako-san is older than Shisui-san by a year or so." Itachi replied, leaving Naruto even more surprised.
"Is that so? Why haven't I heard or met her until now? Is she not a Shinobi?" Naruto asked
"No, she is a shinobi, a jonin at that. It's just that she has a complicated relationship with the clan and the village. She keeps mostly to herself, with the only regular interaction being with Shisui-san or Kaa-san, as she kept checking on them after their parents died years ago." Itachi said
Naruto sat quietly for a few moments. Seems like Shisui's sister has quite the situation.
"What about her team? Isn't she a jonin? Where is the genin team she was a part of, or even her own genin team?" Naruto asked, knowing that something must have happened for this Miyako to isolate herself from almost everyone.
"I don't know about her genin days, but she didn't take a genin team. From what Shisui-san told me, Miyako-san takes missions on her own or patrols by herself when she has Uchiha police duty." Itachi relied
'Yup, definitely there is a situation there. But it isn't my problem. Still surprised that Shisui had an older sibling,' Naruto thought, before letting the matter go.
"So, Itachi. How is your Shinobi life with everything that happened?" Naruto asked.
He hoped that Itachi wouldn't stagnate due to what happened.
"Minazuki-sensei said that I will be getting new teammates soon, but Tou-san advised against expecting much and to focus on my own training, as he wants me to take the Chunin exams soon," Itachi replied, making Naruto's eyes widen slightly in surprise
"Chunin exams, huh. I am sure you would be ready for it." Naruto said
"How was it when you went through the Chunin exams, Naruto-san?" Itachi asked
"Mine were in Kumo, and it was interesting to say the least. I am sure yours will be in a different location, maybe here in Konoha." Naruto replied
For the next couple of hours, Naruto and Itachi kept talking about many things, mainly the shinobi life. They also walked around the park within sight of the playgrounds so they could keep the little ones in sight.
When the afternoon neared, Naruto called the little ones for snacks and drinks. Naruto had unsealed rice balls with different fillings and Dango, along with water and fruit juice. The young ones enjoyed their snacks along with their playmates, like the Shika-Ino-Cho children, the young Inuzuka, and a few other children, before returning to play.
Naruto had let out a small laugh when he took out the dango. Itachi had his eyes fixed on the multicolored sweet treat as if it owed him something.
Naruto offered Itachi some, which he took after looking away shyly. Itachi took a stick of dango and started munching on it with a blissful expression.
Naruto let a small smile appear on his face upon seeing the unusual expression on the normally stoic boy's face, which was expected from a boy his age.
Around an hour later, Naruto saw Mikoto walking towards them, carrying a few bags.
"Hey, Nee-san/Kaa-san." Naruto and Itachi greeted Mikoto as she reached them
"Hey, boys. Everything going fine?" Mikoto asked, looking at them
"Yeah, and the little ones are having fun," Naruto replied, making Mikoto look at the kids while they played.
"That's great," Mikoto said before looking back at Naruto.
"What are you planning for the rest of the day, Naruto-kun?" Mikoto asked, looking back at Naruto.
"It's nearing lunchtime, so I will be taking the girls to have lunch before taking some to the working ladies in the hospital," Naruto said, to which Mikoto smiled.
"How about you and the girls join us for lunch?" Mikoto offered, making Naruto look at her with slight surprise.
"I don't know about that, Nee-san," Naruto said a bit uncertainly
"What? Are you going to refuse my invite?" Mikoto asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Not that, Nee-san," Naruto said a bit too quickly before continuing, "I just don't want to intrude."
"Oh, none of that. You know you and the girls are welcome at any time." Mikoto said
"Fugaku wouldn't return home until late today, and I can't finish this all by myself and the boys," Mikoto said as she shook her grocery bags slightly.
Naruto just stayed quiet for a moment. Knowing Mikoto, he knew she brought more on purpose, as he knew she knew that no one would be home right now.
"That would be lovely, Nee-san." Naruto agreed, and Mikoto's smile widened
"That's wonderful. Now, boys, be sure to come after an hour or so so I can have time to prepare lunch. Can't have the kids' fun time cut short to go wait, can we?" Mikoto said as she and the boys heard the kids' giggles and laughter.
"That's fine, Nee-san. Take your time." Naruto said
Mikoto just smiled warmly before leaving the two sitting on the park bench and making her way home.
'Women. I know that if I said no to the women I know, they would make my life hell,' Naruto thought to himself before hearing laughter from his mindscape, making him sigh, then forming a shadow clone that left in a body flicker to make lunch for the working ladies in the hospital.
...
An hour later, in the Uchiha compound;
"Nii-chan, where are we going?" Mito asked as she and Karin looked at her unfamiliar surroundings.
"Your Mikoto-oba-san invited us for lunch, so we are going to her house," Naruto replied
"Really?" Mito asked a bit excitedly, to which Naruto nodded.
Mito then kept looking around her at her surroundings along with Karin, while Itachi walked silently with Sasuke, who had a smile on his face.
Mito and Karin haven't been to the Uchiha compound before, so this was a bit exciting for them to see where Sasuke and his family live.
As the group neared the clan head's house, Naruto could sense three signatures inside there, two of which he was familiar with, the third being new to him.
That third chakra signature felt strong, elite jonin level, one of the strongest Naruto felt in the village, having similarities with one of the other two signatures.
"Itachi," Naruto called, gaining the attention of the young genin walking beside him.
"Is your mother expecting any guests?" Naruto asked, as he gave Itachi a side glance.
"No, I don't think so," Itachi replied, to which Naruto just nodded as he kept walking at his usual pace with the others.
One of the familiar signatures was Shisui's, so Naruto knew everything was fine.
A few minutes later, they reach the clan heads home.
Itachi reached for the door and opened it.
"We are home." Itachi and Sasuke announced as they entered the house.
"Welcome home, boys. Did Naruto-kun and the girls come with you?" Mikoto's voice came from inside the house before appearing near the door while wiping her hands with a cloth. A smile bloomed on her face, seeing her children along with Naruto and the girls
"Of course I would come, Nee-san," Naruto said as he and the girls entered the house
"Just making sure, come in," Mikoto said with a warm smile as she walked inside the house.
"Hey, Naruto, Itachi," Shisui said as Naruto and the others entered after Mikoto
"Hello, good to have you here, Shisui, Miyako-san," Itachi said as he greeted the two guests sitting by the table, drinking tea.
Naruto looked at the one named Miyako, who was looking back at him. She looked like her name suggested (Miyako means 'beautiful night'), a black-haired, black-eyed beauty with fair skin and an alluring figure that women would greatly envy.
Naruto wasn't even thinking that or looking at her that way; he and she were looking at each other like how shinobi size each other up, a mental assessment on the shinobi in front of them.
While the two looked at each other with blank stares, the atmosphere became a little awkward for the other.
"Ahem," Shisui let out a small cough to break the atmosphere.
"Miyako. I would like you to meet Naruto, a dear friend of mine." Shisui said, looking at his sister who was still eye-locked with Naruto, making him give a slight, awkward chuckle.
"Naruto, I would like you to meet Miyako. My older sister." Shisui said only to get a small nod from Naruto as he continued the stare-down with Miyako.
This continued for a couple more moments, and even Mikoto peeked in from the kitchen at the increasingly awkward situation.
And the one to break the silence was...
