Chapter 97 - Space Paradox - MTT Resort - Hotel

Arrival at the MTT Resort

The group stepped through the door, finding themselves bathed in warm golden light. The MTT Resort was a massive, opulent structure with glowing signs and a bustling atmosphere. Monsters of all shapes and sizes mingled in the grand lobby, which featured polished floors, a massive chandelier, and a luxurious fountain that sparkled with multicolored lights.

At the front desk stood a sleek, metallic receptionist monster, tapping away at an old-fashioned typewriter. To the right, a cozy lounge area was filled with velvet chairs and a grand piano that played itself. The left side of the room opened into a bustling dining area where monsters laughed and clinked glasses.

Meeting the Concierge

A tall, slender, and strangely pleasant monster resembling a smiling slime approached them, dressed in a pristine tuxedo and carrying a clipboard.

Concierge: "Welcome to the MTT Resort, the crown jewel of Hotland! My name is Vellium, and I am delighted to assist you. May I interest you in a suite? Or perhaps a reservation at our world-famous restaurant?"

Kaeltherion, narrowing his eyes: "We're not here for luxury. We're passing through."

Velthara, smirking: "Speak for yourself. It wouldn't hurt to take a break."

Lymtherion, crossing his arms: "We've wasted enough time. Where's the exit?"

The concierge's smile widened unnaturally.

Vellium: "The exit, you say? Why, you'll find that in the Core! But I must warn you, the journey through the Core is... less than relaxing. Perhaps you'd like to rest here before continuing?"

Auralith, quietly: "Why is everyone here so cryptic? Can't anyone just answer directly?"

Exploring the Resort

Despite their determination to leave, Velthara convinced the group to at least explore the resort briefly. They split up, some cautiously examining the various attractions while others remained wary of potential traps.

The Dining Area

Velthara and Zalthirion ventured into the dining area, drawn by the smell of exotic dishes. A hulking monster wearing a chef's hat waved enthusiastically at them.

Chef Monster: "Try the special today—MTT's world-famous Glamburgers! They're to die for!"

Zalthirion, suspiciously: "Is that a pun?"

The chef laughed loudly, slapping the counter. Velthara rolled her eyes but ordered a burger out of curiosity, biting into it cautiously.

Velthara, surprised: "Okay, this is actually good."

The Lounge

Kaeltherion and Lymtherion stuck to the lounge, watching the monsters who lounged around the piano. A dark figure in a trench coat muttered to itself near the edge of the room.

Lymtherion, leaning to Kaeltherion: "That one's giving me bad vibes. Should we check it out?"

Before they could approach, the figure slipped away, leaving behind an odd smell.

The Front Desk

Auralith and Elytherion remained by the front desk, where Vellium continued to offer overly cheerful advice about the resort.

Auralith, flatly: "You're not going to tell us anything useful about the Core, are you?"

Vellium, grinning wider: "Why spoil the adventure, dear guest? The Core is an experience to be lived, not explained!"

Elytherion tilted his head, silently analyzing Vellium's behavior. His crimson eye flickered faintly, searching for any hidden intentions.

The Group Reconvenes

After a brief exploration, the group regrouped in the lobby. Kaeltherion stood with his arms crossed, visibly impatient.

Kaeltherion: "Enough distractions. We need to get moving."

Velthara, teasingly: "Relax, big brother. You're going to burn yourself out with all that brooding."

Before Kaeltherion could respond, the doors to the Core entrance slid open, revealing a long, glowing pathway leading deeper into Hotland. The concierge waved cheerfully as they passed.

Vellium: "Good luck, travelers! And do come back—if you survive, of course."

The group exchanged wary glances before stepping forward into the unknown. As the doors shut behind them, the air grew warmer, and the hum of the Core's machinery filled the space. The next stage of their journey had begun.
