Chapter 511 - Bold Ideas

"Using existing treasures to forge the new power of the Original One?"

"Tell me more!" John's eyes lit up as if he'd spotted a mountain of gold.

"The Original One's power is a gift of strength bestowed upon Kings. Its essence is proof of divine favor, the objects are merely carriers. The real power lies within the King's body."

"Therefore, each King can use their royal power to bless a carrier and transform it into divine treasure from the Original One."

"For example, Gardevoir could use the crystal you just obtained containing the God of Time's power as a carrier and transform it into the Original One's blessing," Xerneas explained patiently.

"Interesting!" The more Xerneas spoke, the brighter John's eyes became.

From what he was hearing, it seemed like he had the ability to create "divine treasures." Which raised the question, could he mass-produce divine artifacts?

As soon as this thought crossed John's mind, Xerneas continued.

"However, every King/Queen only has this opportunity once in their lifetime, and the stronger the carrier, the more power the King can channel. Ultimately, the proof of kingship and the Original One's power will be proportionally stronger."

"Ah." John couldn't help but frown. He'd thought he could mass-produce divine treasures, but then he had another idea. "So you can only bless one item at a time? Can't I put several items together for blessing?"

Xerneas looked stunned. This was the first time she'd heard such an ambitious, greedy, idea. After thinking carefully, he replied: "There's no such restriction, but I strongly advise against it. I've never seen any King attempt this. It's extremely risky."

"The essence of Royal Power is the Original One's strength. It has the ability to integrate everything and will merge all blessed carriers into one. If all the items you place are suitable for the King, then that's fine. But if they're incompatible, it's very likely the final carrier will be useless, proof that the King couldn't receive the Original One's true blessing."

John nodded in understanding. Items blessed with Royal Power would merge into one, which completely eliminated his mass-production dreams.

One lifetime opportunity meant he could only create one exclusive artifact.

Though he wondered if Gengar and Zoroark had already created their "divine treasures."

If they hadn't, then he could potentially obtain three divine artifacts, needing only three suitable items as carriers.

Setting aside items for Gengar and Zoroark for now, three items immediately came to mind for Gardevoir.

The Ancient Adamant Orb, the Lustrous Orb, and something called the Mystic Ribbon.

The first two were obvious choices.

But this Mystic Ribbon... John activated his Gameboy and checked its stats directly.

[Mystic Ribbon (★★★): Fairy and Psychic-type move power increased by 50%. Physical consumption of all attacks and moves halved. Psychic-type damage against Dark-type increased to 50% effectiveness. (Exclusive to Ralts, Kirlia, Gardevoir, and Gallade, ineffective when carried by other Pokemon) (MAX)]

This was an item John had obtained by synthesizing multiple Gardevoir-exclusive accessories.

It had the incredible effect of "reversing" type matchups, allowing Psychic-type moves to affect Dark-type Pokemon. Changed from completely ineffective to 50% damage. However, John found the damage efficiency lacking compared to using other move types. After all, his Gardevoir had mastered over ten different move types, she could hit any opponent's weakness.

Therefore, John had kept the Mystic Ribbon in storage as a warehouse keeper.

Now, if he wanted an item suited to Gardevoir as a carrier for her Royal Power blessing, the Mystic Ribbon was undoubtedly perfect. However, while the ribbon was certainly suitable, judging from its effects, just one item still felt insufficient.

The Lustrous Orb and Ancient Adamant Orb both had excellent effects. While their types didn't match, their space and time powers were perfect complements. Gardevoir's ability to master Dialga and Palkia's signature moves proved this compatibility.

But taking them out individually always felt somehow incomplete.

John suddenly had a bold idea.

"By the way, if several carriers I place are all suitable for the King, would the result of the Royal Power fusion blessing be even better?" John asked Xerneas again.

"Of course, but again, the risk is extremely high! I don't recommend trying it," Xerneas replied.

John nodded with clear understanding. The theoretical foundation was already there.

His bold idea was to fuse the three items, Mystic Ribbon, Lustrous Orb, and Ancient Adamant Orb, through Royal Power!

Just thinking about it made John a little impatient. Maybe they could create something truly terrifying?

"Wait a moment," Xerneas suddenly stepped in front of John.

"If possible, I'd like your partner Gardevoir to become my protégé. I wonder if she'd be willing?" Xerneas looked at John's Mega Gardevoir with burning eyes.

"Do I need to follow you constantly to become your protégé? What other obligations are there? And what are the benefits?" John asked directly.

It had seen John's other companions, many of whom were stronger than Gardevoir. According to John, he'd also defeated the gods of Thunder, Fire, and Ice.

"What's the catch?"

"No, your Gardevoir wouldn't need to follow me constantly. She'd just need to participate in battle when I fight Yveltal," Xerneas explained.

Xerneas's blessing as the God of Life was indeed tremendously appealing, and perfectly suited to Gardevoir's Fairy-type nature.

If there was such assistance when battling against Yveltal, it would definitely tip the scales on the battlefield.

"And the benefits I can offer are my blessings," Xerneas looked at John again. It didn't mind John asking about benefits so directly. By gaining Gardevoir as a protégé, it was winning over not just Gardevoir, but also John as her trainer.

John raised an eyebrow upon hearing the benefits.

If he hadn't known Xerneas was a genderless Pokemon, John might have thought it was attracted to Gardevoir. After all, with his Gardevoir's appearance, she could charm anyone, male or female, young or old, human or Pokemon!

"Alright, I accept," John decided.

"Then shall I take the first step?" John looked at Mega Gardevoir, preparing to teleport directly to the sanctuary entrance. After exiting the realm, he'd find a quiet place and start trying to create his masterpiece.

Furthermore, Xerneas had just shared so many secrets with him, he should reciprocate the favor.
