John discovered he'd arrived at the very place where he'd initially spotted the Rocket Boss, the top of Rainbow Rocket's castle.
"Hmm, quite impressive. You've defeated so many organization leaders to stand before me." A praising voice came from not far away.
The speaker was none other than Giovanni.
Giovanni's presence didn't surprise John. What he truly wanted to find was Blue.
Throughout the journey, he hadn't seen Blue in any world, which meant he could only be here before Giovanni. After all, Green and Giovanni did have a history of conflict between them.
"You're looking for this world's Blue?" Giovanni saw John searching around and smiled in response. "I defeated him, so he wanted to become like those other leaders, join Team Rocket as a member and fight to help me dominate countless worlds!"
"You'll be the same!"
Giovanni crossed his arms, looking absolutely confident that John would submit.
Hm?
Blue lost?
"Let's battle!" John grabbed his Pokeball.
"Excellent. I appreciate direct people, it saves all that nutritionless dialogue. Winner takes all, loser becomes subordinate. As it should be!" Giovanni smiled and clapped his hands.
At his feet, the sound of mechanical gears turning echoed as a silver biological chamber rose up.
Clank!
The biological chamber opened.
Inside lay Giovanni's trump card Pokemon, Mewtwo.

"Armored Mewtwo? How is it different from regular Mewtwo?" John wondered. Could it be like Shadow Mewtwo, possessing some special ability?
"Your turn. Send out your Pokemon, I'll give you the chance to challenge me!" Giovanni was quite satisfied with John's reaction.
No matter who it was, seeing Mewtwo for the first time always elicited shock!
This gave him an endless sense of accomplishment.
This world's Giovanni really is trash. Even his Mewtwo got stolen by someone else. But no matter, I'll wash away this world's shame myself!
As for why John's Mewtwo's body was black, Giovanni didn't pay it any mind. He'd traveled through countless timelines and encountered trainers who'd captured Mewtwo, or even himself, so he'd occasionally seen different colored variants.

Shadow Mewtwo saw Giovanni and Armored Mewtwo, its brow immediately furrowing. It remembered some rather unpleasant memories.
Regardless of which timeline's Mewtwo, the majority, even basically all of them, were born within Team Rocket. And for Pokemon born in an evil organization, there were fundamentally no pleasant memories.

Shadow Mewtwo stood on the ground. A terrifying oppressive force descended from above, attempting to press Shadow Mewtwo directly into the earth.
Except it seemed to have no effect. Shadow Mewtwo floated half a meter in mid-air, never descending even a fraction, not even wavering slightly. It simply stared silently at Armored Mewtwo.
Counterattack!
Shadow Mewtwo struck back at Armored Mewtwo.
"Psychic!"

Giovanni, who'd been prepared to watch the show, couldn't help raising an eyebrow. The smile on his face slightly contracted, but he didn't issue any commands.
Armored Mewtwo had been infused with combat memories from all timelines, the fighting styles of innumerable powerful opponents. It would use the most suitable technique at the most appropriate moment. There existed no openings whatsoever!
Armored Mewtwo immediately vanished from its position. A moment later, it had already launched an attack from behind Shadow Mewtwo, a Shadow Ball!
In that instant, over a thousand basketball-sized black Shadow Balls appeared, raining down from the sky in a frenzied bombardment!
Since the opponent was itself, Armored Mewtwo naturally understood its own weaknesses perfectly.
Attack finished, the Armored Mewtwo preparing to Teleport away suddenly felt an irresistible force strike it, pinning it in place like a nail, unable to move.
Having caught Armored Mewtwo, Shadow Mewtwo raised its right hand and continuously deployed a series of dark-type techniques.
"Shadow Pulse!"
