Chapter 317 - Chapter 317

Chase hurled the trident at the skull of the monster, as its giant fist crushed back with terrible force, launching his already weakened body into the cracked stone wall.

His vision blurred, and his body threatened him with unconsciousness at such a dire moment.

In fact, he worried not about the monsters flooding the ruins, but the ceiling collapsing on everyone and everything within the ancient hall.

He pushed his ragged body out of the crater that could have easily killed a human with no durability affinity, standing on the edge of the broken wall, peering down at the cacophony of chaos that had exploded within the ruins of Olympia...

A giant pillar of ice had crushed several different ancient monsters under its cold grip.

Lightning continued to ricochet throughout the hall, shattering every single monster that met its static touch.

However, no matter how strong they were... There was a big difference between humans and monsters that worried him more than anything...

Humans had limits... While monsters had no such thing, as they did not feel the pain of overdoing their abilities.

So in order to win this fight... Unity had to abandon their humanity alongside other things...

A laugh escaped his broken mask, blood spilling from the cracks in his onyx skull.

Chase needed to become a monster...

He needed to abandon any humanity within his mind and body alike.

Forcing his energy to expand, he felt the black ruins along his skin vibrate with countless different variations of pain and agony.

Then he pushed his mortal thoughts behind him, launching himself towards the horde of monsters flooding over Neveah's breaking barrier.

Before he knew it, he was soaring straight through a crowd of skeletons, incinerating them with simply the heat of his touch.

His hand shot outward, grabbing the skull of a large undead monster resembling that of a grizzly bear.

Then his hand began to burn with terrible pain as the skull of the monster began to fade into ash.

A powerful force struck him in the back of the head, sending him flying and thudding with painful rolls and flops as his body rag dolled across the hall.

As his momentum carried him further away from the battle, he grunted, violently hooking the tip of his boot into the crack in the ground, breaking his knee with the force of inertia; however, he had stopped in an instant.

Summoning a terrible inferno, he began to push an immense amount of power into his energy reserves, draining his soul of life as his flames only grew three times as hot.

"KAYLYNNNNNNN!" He screamed at the top of his smoldering lungs.

From behind a pillar, she must have heard his plea, and began to summon a gale of immense force.

Wind began to blow in the hall with the force of a hurricane, zapping away any breathable air that had once been in the ancient hall.

The heat began to grow far too powerful for Chase to control as it mixed with the terrible winds that began to collide with the inferno of flames.

A tornado that burned with the might of his flaming rage, began to tear through the hordes of monsters with uncontrollable precision, leaving only ash and embers in its wake.

Equan of House Lightning...

Equan shot an arrow of powerful lightning at the wall, shooting him to the left with a fierce amount of momentum, allowing him to gain an even better vantage point in the air, knocking another arrow and loosing it onto a horde of monsters below him, sending him soaring even further into the air from the momentum of the bolt of lightning that struck from his arrow.

A ragged breath escaped his lips as he hovered momentarily above the chaos below.

'I can't... Keep... Up...' He thought, unable to get a grip on the situation.

Then his skin began to sweat underneath his armor, not from exhaustion... But from whatever heat had taken over within the hall.

His eyes darted towards the bright light that had overtaken the ruins.

Wind was pushing and pulling violently like a vortex, even from the distance that Equan floated from the blazing light.

"Holy shit..." He muttered, as he realized that a blazing tornado had been let loose upon the hall... Incinerating everything in its wake.

'We're all gonna die...' He thought momentarily before realizing that he had already began descending into another horde of endless monsters.

"Oh screw it..." He growled, letting his body dive head first into the horde.

"SHATTER SHOCK!" He screamed just before he hit the ground, letting energetics waves of lightning escape his tired body.

The waves of lighting attached themselves to each of the monsters, then...

Everything exploded with a shocking amount of force.

Equan landed with a painful grunt, barely keeping his balance from how long he had been in the air.

But around him, lightning had turned into a stack of dominoes, leeching onto any living being that was near the last.

He watched with pride, as his lightning expanded throughout the hall, frying the brains of everything that it connected with...
