Chapter 414 - Chapter 414

The day swiftly crept by as Griffin had remained within the safety of his own dumpster for the last three or four hours, spending his time with the company of several bottles.

But as Griffin found himself stuck within some sort of disoriented trance, before the city suddenly boomed to life around him.

Bards and Jesters filling the streets as countless visitors and citizens of Seh Jenah alike made the streets resemble the last hall of Olympia, filling Griffin's mouth with slight distaste.

He felt a subtle jingle within his catalyst, reminding him that the golden lute Lumen had not been played in quite some time.

But he bit his tongue, forcing himself to remember that this was not his city.

Nor would it ever be...

His scarred pale face twisted into a dissatisfied frown.

'Then what the hell have I been doing this whole time...'

He thought, his eyes creeping upward as the sun began to set beyond the tall buildings of Seh Jenah with its mighty wall acting as the final resting point for the sun's cycle.

He let out a shaky exhale, remembering his confrontation with The Vex of Seh Jenah... The person who had rightfully gained Juliet's hand in marriage...

Griffin bit his tongue again.

The image of the black boxes filling his dumpster as rust and sparks delivered a nightly onslaught upon him appeared in Griffin's mind.

Then he remembered the machina that the goddess had used in the final battle of Olympia...

The thing she had used to propel her energy outward...

"I'm such a fool..." Griffin muttered, palming his own face.

Then after little hesitation, the bard crawled his way out of the dumpster, standing with a painful grunt as well as the fixing of his once lavish white vest.

The first thing he noticed, was the couple currently making out in the alley right in front of him.

"Uh forgive me..." He said, before walking with hasty pace into the crowded streets of the Seh Jenah.

Griffin was struck with awe at the sheer amount of things happening all at once within the city as several shady merchants bumped into him with a shove.

Simply put: Overstimulated was an understatement.

Griffin nearly tripped over his own feet at the sight of his rightful city in such a prosperous state.

Several performers had cleared the way at the center of the intersection, all four of which were using their elemental affinities in order to perform an amazing spectacle of magic before the largest crowd in the South of Vallmora.

"Forgive me!" Griffin called out a mother of four shoved past him, making way for several different groups of people to walk past him.

Then everything began to go quiet...

The sound of cheers and laughter vanishing in a moments notice...

And the vast smell of street food, replaced with only the smell of hazy smoke...

Pewwwww.

A sparkling whistle shot itself into the sky, causing Griffin's head to point towards the dusk sky above...

An endless black abyss... Trampled with the remanence of a thousand stars...

And then there was a lone bard, surrounded by a thousand more silenced people... Watching with a sense of emptiness as a golden shooting star made its way into that black abyss...

BOOM!

Griffin flinched as a flower of golden sparks formed in the sky above...

His ears ringing with anticipation as a fiery figure of rebellion began to build within his own mind...

...

Gabriel grimaced as his body instantly froze over upon entering the second coldest coast of Vallmora...

Michael frowned.

"It cannot be that bad..." He chuckled, stepping into the blizzard without a single trace of irritation.

"So... You lot have been here before, aye?" Azure asked, summoning a sphere of glowing water into the palm of his hand, lighting their way inside the snowy storms of Eastern Vallmora.

Gabriel shrugged while Michael nodded with a distant looking in the both of their eyes.

"Ah... Well, the good news is that this very well may be the last stretch of our splendid journey together, mates... The location is just beyond these mountains..." Azure said, his lips falling slowly into an empty frown.

Michael suddenly looked up at the sky as they began to walk.

Beyond the blanket of snow... Michael could see a distant aurora making its mark across the frozen skies of the lands that had once belonged to The Kingdom of Frostfang...

Gabriel looked up behind him, whistling as the view showed just as impressive for the Child of Envy.

"Aye, what a view..." Azure chuckled, a single line of ice running down the side of his cheek...

A vast sense of regret and sadness radiated through the air around them.

Gabriel noticed this, tilting his head and narrowing his eyes with a sense of dread invading his inner thoughts.

"Don't forget we still have our own task after we do whatever it is that you gotta do..." Michael reminded Gabriel and Azure, before shrugging with cocky indifference, spinning his scythe along his fingertips as snow quicky began to pile up within the valley.
