Chapter 217 - Chapter 217: The Kaleidoscope of Love {1}

"Tsukuyomi!"

"Tsukuyomi!"

Uchiha Hikari and Uchiha Itachi unleashed their respective Kaleidoscope Sharingan techniques almost simultaneously!

Compared to Itachi, Hikari's ocular jutsu was one she had received through a transplant long ago. Though it wasn't awakened by Hikari herself, its power was in no way inferior to an innate Tsukuyomi!

In this moment, a rare clash of illusions—so improbable it could almost be ignored in both past and present—began!

Tsukuyomi versus Tsukuyomi!

For the first time, a collision of Tsukuyomi unfolded!

Within the Tsukuyomi world, the sky, typically a stark black and red, now seemed as if cleaved by a blade that tore through the heavens. One side belonged to Itachi's black-and-red realm, while the other was Hikari's monochromatic black-and-white domain.

Itachi was utterly stunned by the sight.

Who was this?!

Not only did she possess a Kaleidoscope Sharingan, but her ocular technique was the exact same Tsukuyomi as his own! More crucially, why was someone of her strength lingering near Sasuke? What could a person of such power possibly want with him?

But Itachi had no time to ponder these questions. The two Tsukuyomi worlds pressed against each other, colliding and grinding with relentless force, like two slabs of butter being forcibly mashed together.

Itachi felt his Yin Release slam into what seemed like an impenetrable iron wall. Without a shred of humility, he considered himself the strongest illusionist in the ninja world since Uchiha Shisui's death. Yet this mysterious Uchiha girl could match him in Yin Release—a fact that shook him to his core.

"Hmph, interesting," Hikari remarked, her lips curling into a slight smirk as she gazed at the man standing in the black-and-red world.

This man was Uchiha Sasuke's older brother, the one responsible for wiping out the entire Uchiha clan. Hikari approved of Itachi's actions in annihilating the clan. After all, the corrupt Uchiha deserved to be eradicated entirely. Her only regret was that she hadn't been the one to do it.

But approving of his deeds didn't mean she'd let him attack her just because of that. The killing intent he'd shown moments ago was unmistakable. And to use Tsukuyomi on her without hesitation—if she hadn't reacted quickly, she might have actually been at a disadvantage.

"Who are you?" Itachi's voice echoed through the Tsukuyomi world, reaching Hikari's ears.

"I'm your great-grandmother," Hikari replied dismissively, brushing off his question with a sneer.

"…"

Her words left Itachi momentarily speechless. To him, Hikari's response showed no intent to engage in meaningful conversation. After all, she appeared to be only twelve or thirteen years old, while he was already twenty.

"Regrettable as it is, I'd rather you die," Itachi said calmly, his gaze steady as he intensified his Yin Release.

Instantly, the black-and-red world surged toward Hikari with crushing force!

"You don't think I've gone all out, do you?" Hikari tilted her head slightly, eyeing the man before her.

Her own Kaleidoscope technique, Yachihoko, allowed her to mark a target with an imprint, granting her the ability to freely manipulate their chakra—absorbing it, redirecting it, or using it to replenish herself, all under her control. Most crucially, Yachihoko enabled her to alter the memories of those marked.

She could make someone treat their father's killer as their own parent, filled with filial devotion. She could make an arrogant noble believe they were a beggar wallowing in filth. She could even make a refined, untainted lady think she was a shameless streetwalker.

The birth of Yachihoko wasn't just a testament to the technique's terrifying power—it was proof of the immense Yin Release Hikari wielded.

With a slight nudge of her control, the black-and-white Tsukuyomi world transformed into a ravenous beast, lunging toward Itachi with predatory intent!

Itachi's black-and-red world was like a defenseless maiden being overwhelmed by a hulking brute. His eyes narrowed sharply as he witnessed the scene. The power of her Tsukuyomi far exceeded his expectations, and a creeping sense of danger stirred in his heart.

Tsukuyomi, at its core, was a manifestation of Yin Release, tied to a ninja's mental energy. If one's mental strength was shattered in such a clash, they could be reduced to a mindless husk. A duel of Tsukuyomi was far more perilous than any ordinary illusion battle!

Gritting his teeth, Itachi's resolve hardened. Even in his black-and-red world, bloodshot veins were visible in his eyes. Under his desperate control, towering mountains rose from the black-and-red landscape, attempting to halt Hikari's encroaching erosion. Though the effect was minimal, it did slow her advance, if only slightly.

"Not bad," Hikari said with a cold laugh. "Even in my era, your illusions would rank among the best."

"But unfortunately…"

The implication was clear.

Unfortunately, he'd met her.

Why had she been sealed away as a weapon of war by the Uchiha clan? If Hikari were merely an ordinary Kaleidoscope wielder, a few Kage-level shinobi could have easily subdued her. Why else would they go to such lengths to seal her?

The answer was simple: no one could kill her!

In an instant, as Hikari unleashed her full power, the entire Tsukuyomi world shifted dramatically. The black-and-white realm surged toward Itachi with the force of a tidal wave!

But then, another sudden change occurred. Itachi's black-and-red world shattered like a mirror smashed by a fist. His figure seemed to fragment along with it.

With no opponent left to contest the mental space, Hikari's black-and-white world instantly dominated the entire realm.

"He sure fled quickly," Hikari muttered with a cold smirk, vanishing from the mental plane.

Back in the real world, Itachi let out a stifled groan. The eye that had cast Tsukuyomi was now bloodshot, a single tear of blood trailing down his cheek. In the clash of Tsukuyomi, he had been utterly overwhelmed. The mental strain of the Yin Release battle left his mind feeling as if it were about to explode. Struggling to maintain his balance, he clutched his bleeding eye and looked at Hikari with difficulty.

"Who… are you?!" he demanded. "There's no one like you in the Uchiha clan! What's your purpose with Sasuke?!"

Perhaps because of the splitting headache, Itachi could no longer maintain his usual calm and composed demeanor. His tone was hurried, even tinged with a hint of panic.

To Sasuke and the Scorpion of the Red Sand, the confrontation between Hikari and Itachi appeared to last only a fleeting moment—a mere glance. Yet in that instant, Itachi had been decisively defeated.

"Heh… heh heh," Sasuke chuckled darkly, his hatred and killing intent boiling over as he watched Itachi's weakened state. The three tomoe in his eyes spun wildly, transforming into a seven-pointed Kaleidoscope Sharingan.
