Kent didn't need it before when his bloodline hadn't reached 20% awakened yet. Of course, he also didn't pay attention to it simply because the talisman is ridiculously expensive.
However, now he does, and if the fact that he is in a completely different universe or the fact that he is fighting beings far stronger than he is isn't enough, then now, he has to fight dozens of said opponents at the same time, and that is just too much for a person.
