The more attacks Zeraphine rained down on Mercy, the more the frustration and anger she had held back all these years poured out. Indeed, while she was in the Flame Sea, not a single day went by without her thinking of her friend, her sister.

However, when they finally met, her true nature was revealed, and Zeraphine realized that the one she had called a sister for years was actually the devil herself.
Fast forward to after she was rescued by Uncle Drew and brought to the Underworld, Zerpahine finally learned what had happened to her parents from Nyx, whose underworld-queen powers allowed her to see the dead's memories.
It turned out that when Zeraphine awakened her spirit root, it was actually a Supreme-grade spirit root that had been mistaken for a Diamond-grade one. Somehow, Lord Crayon discovered the truth, and so he plotted the assassination of Zeraphine's entire family.
