I woke up in Dove's bed.
The room smelled like eucalyptus and jasmine. Of course it did. Dove worked around the clock to make sure the house smelled like a different day every single day. Yesterday it was sandalwood. Tonight it was this. Clean. Calm. Him.
My head felt wrecked, but strangely sober. I thought I'd wake up with a hangover, but maybe Danilo showing up and looking at me like I'd personally offended the entire state of Texas scared the vodka straight out of me.
I rolled over. My head pounding from a hangover and I was pretty sure I reeked of alcohol.
For once Dove wasn't draped over me like a weighted blanket. He was turned away. Back to me. The sheets were tangled between us and I could see his long tan legs, bare and warm against the cotton. He was wearing little silky shorts and a matching top. Simple. Nothing fancy. But the way the fabric sat against his skin, low on his hips, soft over his shoulders, made something in my chest burn.
He was pissed.
