Wen Tang paused and maintained some distance from Pei Heyan on one side. "What?"
She didn't understand; she thought she had reported everything that needed to be mentioned.
Pei Heyan couldn't help but glance at her with disdain. "Do you know what medical staff do when someone dies in the hospital?"
"I'm not dead yet."
Realizing what he meant, Wen Tang looked at the pristine white bed linens that enveloped Pei Heyan, then at his standing figure.
It was as if he was just short of donning a white coat and bowing deeply; she hastily stepped forward to clarify, "No, President Pei, you misunderstood; I didn't mean that."
Pei Heyan didn't respond, his face still dissatisfied.
Wen Tang saw that she had almost pushed too far and quickly sat down by the bed. "Is this okay now?"
