Wen Tang stood rooted to the spot as she watched Lu Nianxin disappear from sight, her lips pursed as she squeezed out two words, "Thank you."
"I should go." Lu Minghao gave her a glance, "Does your face still hurt?"
Wen Tang touched her face subconsciously, the promise she made to Lu Yun surfacing in her mind, and with a forced smile she said, "To say it doesn't hurt would be too hypocritical."
"I'm a realist myself, and don't really know what to do, but I truly appreciate what you did. If you hadn't stepped in to bail me out just now, it wouldn't have ended with just a slap."
Lu Minghao touched his nose and said with a follow-up, "Doesn't that mean you owe me a favor?"
Wen Tang raised an eyebrow, "Seems so."
She yawned, "I need to rest now. You should sleep early too."
With that, she headed straight to her room.
Upon entering, she turned around and went into the bathroom.
