Lu Nianxin nodded, her forehead covered in beads of sweat.
Suddenly, she remembered she had delayed returning to the company.
Subconsciously, she pulled her phone out of her bag and tried to redial Lu Minghao.
The screen started to act up.
It was either garbled text or the pages kept flashing.
Anxious, she targeted the nurse beside her and, shedding any pretense of being a lady of stature, lowered her tone like never before, "Could I borrow your phone for a moment?"
The nurse put down the ointment she was holding and looked at Lu Nianxin's phone, which was spiderwebbed with cracks.
"Sure," she said, pulling her phone out of her pocket and handing it to Lu Nianxin.
Her hands resumed their activity.
"Ouch," Lu Nianxin frowned, "Be gentle."
The nurse's movements became much gentler.
Lu Nianxin silently repeated the number to ensure it was correct, then dialed.
Li Haiqin's voice came from the other end, "Who is this?"
The tone was far from friendly, even a bit sharp.
