After that, neither of them spoke another word.
They sat in silence, gazing into the fire as the hours of the night slipped by one after another.
Between the warmth of the flames and the chill of the night wind, the two felt a strange sense of familiarity in the air ..
An atmosphere they both wished could last forever.
In the end, Ada did not join them that first day.
And so, Frey made his decision.
"I think… it's time for me to tell you my story as well."
He idly played with his fingers as Abraham gave him his full, undivided attention.
"It's a tragic story .. pitiful, perhaps… and dark, if that description fits."
"Are you sure, Frey?" Abraham asked gently.
"You know I can wait, no matter how long it takes."
He hadn't expected Frey to reveal his secrets so soon.
But Frey shook his head.
"It's fine. At the very least, I owe you that much.
And we'll soon be thrown into the final battle .. there won't be time for conversations like this then."
