While they were sailing across the sea, Luffy was really excited, looking everywhere, trying to see if there was an island nearby.
"Hey, did you leave your weapon behind?" Zoro asked Oliver.
"What are you talking about?" said Oliver, confused.
"Your axe. You left it in Shells Town," Zoro said.
"Oh, that. I didn't leave it in Shells Town," Oliver said as he pulled his axe out of his inventory. "Here it is."
"What the...?" said Zoro, confused as he saw it appear out of nowhere.
"It's a special power. It lets me store things I touch inside a kind of box-like space, so I keep lots of stuff in there," Oliver explained.
He stored the axe back in his inventory and pulled out a bottle of alcohol, handing it to Zoro.
"That's pretty impressive," said Zoro, opening the bottle.
"Oliver! Food!" shouted Luffy.
"You're eating again? We just left Shells Town, and you ate more than I did," Zoro said while drinking.
"It's because I still have 4 meals left to eat," said Luffy, while Oliver took out some meat that Luffy immediately began to eat.
"4 meals?!" said Zoro.
"We'll need a lot of food for Luffy, and the worst part is I couldn't buy any in Shells Town," Oliver said.
"Don't worry. We just have to find an island," said Luffy with a grin.
"And do you know how to navigate?" Zoro asked.
"No," Luffy replied.
Zoro looked at Oliver, waiting for his answer.
"I barely know how to fight," Oliver said truthfully.
"This is a disaster. Don't you think it's weird that you two know nothing about navigation?" Zoro said.
"Of course not! I always just drift around," said Luffy.
"I don't even remember how I got to an island, and I didn't leave until I met Luffy," said Oliver.
"Weren't you a bounty hunter who traveled by sea?" Luffy asked Zoro.
"First of all, I don't remember ever introducing myself as a bounty hunter," said Zoro.
"I was looking for a man, that's why I went out to sea, but I couldn't find my way back to my island, and since I had no other choice, I started hunting pirate ships — I only did it to survive."
Luffy and Oliver looked at each other, then immediately at Zoro.
"So you got lost," they both said.
"Don't say it like that!" Zoro shouted. "Anyway, I've never heard of pirates who don't know how to navigate. Do you think we'll reach the Grand Line like this? We need a navigator as soon as possible!"
"Of course. First, we need a musician, a cook, a navigator, a..." Luffy began to say.
"Those can wait a bit, don't you think?!" Zoro shouted angrily.
"It's true that a musician would be interesting, but first a navigator, then a cook. Without them, we'll die at sea," Oliver said, looking at the sky.
'The bird that takes us to Orange Town should appear around here,' Oliver thought, scanning the sky.
While Oliver was watching the sky, Luffy started staring at him and noticed Oliver had animal ears and a tail.
He went up and grabbed Oliver's tail while he was distracted, causing Oliver to cover his body with Electro, shocking both Luffy and Zoro.
"What the hell was that for?!" Oliver shouted angrily.
"Amazing! How did you do that?!" Luffy said, astonished by Oliver's electricity.
Oliver felt like punching Luffy because it had hurt, so he jabbed Luffy's forehead with his claw.
"Ouch! Hey! That hurt!" Luffy shouted, holding the spot where he'd been poked.
"Of course it did! I did it so it would hurt!" Oliver snapped. "Don't ever grab my tail again!"
"HAHAHAHAHA!"
Zoro burst out laughing because Oliver looked like a real wolf ready to attack — his hair was bristled, and his tail was stiff.
"You remind me of Helmeppo's wolf," said Zoro, finishing his bottle of alcohol.
"That's because you could say I'm part wolf," Oliver said, sitting down and relaxing.
Oliver noticed Luffy watching him with excitement, waiting for an explanation.
"I'm a Beastkin, a hybrid between a human and a mink. My mink side gives me wolf ears, claws, and a tail — plus, it lets me use Electro," Oliver said, covering his hand in electricity.
"Incredible!" said Luffy. "Is that why you can also pull out infinite food?!"
"What? No. That's different — being a hybrid only lets me use Electro," Oliver said.
"Electro lets me increase the damage I deal to whoever I hit, and I can paralyze them too — though it doesn't work on you," Oliver added, deactivating his Electro.
"Ohhh... can it be used to cook food?" Luffy asked.
"What? Of course not — well, maybe, I haven't tried it," said Oliver.
"Then take out some meat and let's try it!" Luffy said excitedly.
"You're insane," Oliver said.
He took out some meat from his inventory, but before he could test heating it, Luffy bit into it immediately.
"I'm pretty sure we were going to test something," Oliver said.
"I was hungry," said Luffy.
Oliver was going to take out more meat, but seeing Luffy ready to attack again, he took out some cheese instead.
"Hey, that's not meat," said Luffy.
"Because if I take out more meat, we'll run out," Oliver said, pointing a finger threateningly.
Oliver grabbed the cheese with both hands and used Electro to see if he could cook it — the cheese began to melt a little.
"Did it work?" Oliver said, incredulous.
The cheese began to drip, so he quickly took out some bread, sliced it, and started spreading the melted cheese on it.
He took out some meat, and before Luffy could snatch it again, he sliced it and placed it in the bread.
"Well, we've got food for everyone," said Oliver, handing each of them a sandwich.
"What about the rest of the meat?" asked Luffy.
"I'm saving it — we don't have many supplies, and we'll need food later, until we get more," Oliver said, storing away the meat and the leftover melted cheese.
"Got any more booze?" Zoro asked. "This would go well with a drink."
"You've got the same problem as Luffy, but with alcohol," Oliver said, pulling out another bottle and handing it to Zoro.
Oliver began eating his cheese-and-meat sandwich, wondering why that bird that was supposed to carry Luffy off hadn't appeared yet.
He was so focused that he flinched when he suddenly heard Luffy scream.
"An island!" shouted Luffy.
"What?" said Oliver, confused.
Oliver looked ahead and saw an island — but it wasn't Orange Town.
"Let's go!" said Luffy, starting to row.
"I hope there's a village and some booze," said Zoro.
'Impossible,' Oliver thought as he stared at the island.
'This... shouldn't have happened.'
He remained staring, deeply confused, at the island that hadn't appeared in either the manga or the anime.
