Anning didn't go home after leaving the hospital; instead, she went straight to Xiao Yuan's place.
She put Xiao Yuzhu's clothes in the washer, tidied up Xiao Yuan's room, and by the time the clothes were washed, she checked the time and thought Xiao Yuan should have finished work, but he hadn't come back yet, so she called him. It turned out he had gone out on a call and probably wouldn't return until late.
Anning then opened the fridge to check and saw there were plenty of ingredients, so she cooked some food for him.
She didn't make anything too complicated, just steamed some rice and stir-fried two dishes.
While cooking, the clothes were done washing, so she hung them out on the balcony. Once the food was ready, she placed it on plates, set them on the dining table, tidied up the kitchen, left a note for Xiao Yuan, and then left.
By the time Anning got home, it was quite late. As soon as she entered, she felt an icy coldness in the house.
