A young man sitting in the corner asked, "You're saying even if we mobilize all the strength we have, we still can't get rid of the Lance family?"
The old man shook his head, and under the young man's slightly surprised gaze, he said something different, "Of course we can."
"We can take out the Lance family. How the hell could they be a match for us?"
"But right now we can't mobilize our people on a large scale to do this. Congress should already have called." He looked over at Fran.
Fran nodded in acknowledgment. "They called me right after we burned the movie theater, warned me not to go that far again."
Even though more than a dozen innocent people died, in essence, to the old gentlemen, it was still just one more bout of "fooling around."
But even if it was just fooling around, they still made sure to remind Fran in time: the first time could be treated as a joke, the second time would be knowingly crossing the line.
