The Next Morning
Gloria was the first to stir.
"Mmm…?" she blinked softly, her lashes fluttering as she lifted her head from the pillow. A faint stretch rippled through her body, her arms rising above her head as she let out a quiet, elegant yawn.
She sat up, brushing a few strands of hair behind her ear.
"Hm? Where's Liana…?"
The spot beside her was empty. The sheets untouched, cool to the touch.
She tilted her head slightly, smiling. "Bathroom, perhaps…"
Her eyes swept over the rest of the room. The other girls were still fast asleep, the sound of their breathing quiet and steady. Mimi curled up like a cat, Felicia mumbling something about carrots in her dreams, and Delya clinging to the blanket like it was a life preserver.
She listened for the faint sound of water running, nothing. Gloria pushed back the covers, slipped out of bed, and padded softly across the room.
She checked the small bathroom...empty.
No… I don't think she's here.
