Garius was inside, along with Alf and Erinette.
While Garius read the report and checked paperwork, a soft knock sounded at the door.
Garius looked up from the report as Alf's hand subtly shifted toward the hidden weapon at his side, while Erinette calmly reached for the small dagger concealed at the back of her maid dress.
Alf walked forward and opened the door slowly. A guard stood outside, saluting respectfully before extending a letter with both palms.
"Sir Alf. There is a letter sent for our King."
"Letter? From whom?" Alf looked at the guard with his usual stern expression before slowly reaching for the letter. He turned it over, checking the seal, then channeled a faint pulse of mana through his special magic butler glove to detect poison or curses.
"Mm… I will present this letter to His Majesty. Continue your duty."
"Yes, Sir." The guard saluted and left quietly before Alf closed the door.
